Sometimes I wonder how you guys play this game. Look at some of these charts from today.

    APC DIS FNM UPS

Lost .15 in TGT and worked a scratch in DOW

8 fills today. 5 wins, 1 loss, 2 scratches, +$4300 on 75,000 shares. Been a great month so far, only one losing day.

  5. maybe i am not looking at the right stocks....

or i have a skewed idea of what the o/o play should be...

i am learning the game but obviously a little on the slow side....

hopefully i can look back on these days and chuckle..

i do intend to keep plugging away..any direction would be greatly appreciated...

  6. Like vhehn, I would go to your school instead of Don's. :D You can charge twice the money.

My guess is that most here are not doing dozens of pairs so they do not have a wide enough net for fear or inability to handle so many if filled. I know I would be unless I had computer help.

You stayed long in FNM after it went .20 against you, or did you exit on the small pop for a .05 or perhaps one of your two scratches?

What time did you exit DOW at?

From what I have read, you state that you exit your losers pronto and let your winners run with more patience...

  8. I stayed long the FNM, even though it squeezed against me because there was a lot of buying pressure in the financials. FNM alone was worth $2590 today. OPG orders, is not about buy it at x, target y, stop Z. It's about making decisions after the open that help you maximize your profits. The market, sector, and even intermarket analysis, as well as risk management and a strategy for handling your losers can make the difference between mediocre results, and really making money with this strategy.

I am so sure you are right. I know that in my own trading, a seemingly simple adjustment has made a huge difference in profitability of strategy.

Because you and lescor seem to do so well at it, I am seriously considering getting a series 7 and going prop. I have tried this retail and I simply cannot spread my net out big enough.

Well said, and I think this mindset should apply to all trading strategies and not only OOs.
