re: Say where the entry and exit points were and what made it a good candidate to place a trade. Then others can evaluate what's right with it, and what's wrong with it. Dons Opening Order threads have been going on for 3 years, look back in the arcives and you will find countless examples.......
I am a breakout trader and I look for stocks that have potential to trend, like CVC and AEA on Friday. I am just curious to know what it is about opening orders trading that has some traders interested in doing it, and trading at the most volatile and unpredictable time of day - the first 5 mins. And just how much successfull trading is happening there.
HPQ at the open, 19.93. Probably took +.10. C at the open, 48.50. Probably took about +.20 48.25 to 48.30. nitro
re: reid5525 You sound like a perfect candidate to trade OO since you do not trade the first 30 minutes. Many of us make most of our money during the first hour and find it hard to do OO's because we are doing something else at that time.
What is the concept for opening orders trading. I must ask because at the open you do not have any idea which way the stock will go. What's your rational for trading stocks with potential for small intraday trading ranges.
I trade after 10am. I look for potential intraday uptrends. Often the best ones are ready for entry after 10:30am.
