    Trump ownership
Donald Trump learned about the estate after unsuccessfully trying to purchase and combine two apartments in Palm Beach for his family. He offered the Post family $15 million for it, but they rejected it. Trump purchased the land between Mar-a-Lago and the ocean from Jack C. Massey, the former owner of KFC, for $2 million,[18] stating he intended to build a home that would block Mar-a-Lago's beach view. The threat caused interest in the property to decline, and Trump ended up getting the property for $7 million in 1985.[19][16] Different sources have put the combined total cost of the purchase at around $10 million.[20][21][22] The minimum acceptable bid had been $20 million, and the interior furnishings were appraised at $8 million.[23]

After purchasing the estate, Trump did extensive renovations, adding a 20,000-square-foot (1,900 m2) ballroom.[17] The club also has five clay tennis courts and a waterfront pool. His wife at the time, Ivana Trump, was put in charge of running the property.[24]

In the early 1990s, Trump faced financial difficulties. While negotiating with his bankers, he promised to divide Mar-a-Lago into smaller properties, alarming Palm Beach residents, so the city council rejected his plan to do so. Trump instead turned the estate into a private club in 1994,[25] fighting off what he considered to be excessive restrictions.[26][27]

The new club hosted concerts by Céline Dion and Billy Joel and had beauty pageant contestants as guests.[17][16][28] Mar-a-Lago has frequently hosted the International Red Cross Ball, an annual "white tie, tails, and tiara" event.[29] Founded by Post, it has a history of support of the mission of the American Red Cross.[30]

According to financial disclosure forms filed by Trump, the Mar-a-Lago Club had $29.7 million in gross revenues in the period June 2015 through May 2016.[31] The club had revenues of $25.1 million for calendar year 2017, $22 million in 2018, and $21.4 million in 2019.[32][33]

In 2018, Forbes estimated the value of the estate at around $160 million, claiming it had appreciated since Trump's purchase.

    Bombed?... truly a Democratic response

The 1985 MOVE bombing, known by at least some of the neighbors on the block simply by its date, May 13, 1985,[2] was the bombing and subsequent fire of an entire residential block in the Cobbs Creek neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by the Philadelphia Police Department during a standoff with the MOVE organization. On May 13, 1985, police dropped two explosive devices from a police helicopter onto the roof of a house occupied by MOVE. The Philadelphia Fire Department allowed the resulting fire to burn out of control,

Ahead of his birthday tomorrow, his supporters serenaded him with a rendition of Happy Birthday and some publicly prayed for him.

“I think it’s going great,” Trump said, before launching into a blizzard of false claims about the US legal system being “rigged” and promising free food for everyone.

“I think it’s a rigged deal here, we have a rigged country, we have a country that’s corrupt,” he said.
“We’re a nation in decline and then they do this stuff.
“You see where the people are – we love the people.”

Trump promises 'food for everyone' at Miami restaurant, then leaves without paying

Former President Donald Trump made a short appearance at a Cuban restaurant in Little Havana after his court appearance on Thursday, where he promised 'food for everyone' present there. Though he was not taken seriously by many, people claimed they were disappointed after he left without delivering on his promise.

By India Today World Desk: Former President Donald Trump, who was arraigned on Tuesday in Miami, Florida, on charges of allegedly withholding classified documents, made a stop at a Cuban restaurant in Little Havana after his court appearance.

Trump's presence seemed to have delighted the crowd present there. Soon after, he added to their delight by shouting, "Food for everyone," prompting expectations that he would cover the expenses.

However, people remained skeptic, given Trump's history of not fulfilling financial obligations, which is also why it has reportedly been difficult for him to secure legal representation.

The Miami New Times expressed doubts about Trump's claim of treating his supporters, considering his reputation for not following through on promises.

The publication, in an attempt to verify the situation, contacted a "knowledgeable source" who revealed that Trump's visit to the Cuban restaurant lasted no more than 10 minutes, leaving no time for anyone to place orders or present him with a bill.

On the contrary, The New York Times reported that Trump did not consume any food at the restaurant, opting instead to have a meal from McDonald's on his private plane.

HuffPost reached out to both the restaurant and the Trump campaign for clarification but received no immediate response. However, the incident drew significant attention on Twitter, where many users expressed their opinions and reactions.
