Review history about this stuff involving just the United States. Governments do split and take sides...military too with the people. I'm not saying it can happen again but the fact that it has happen once before in a so called Democratic country should tell anybody that professional sports boycotts or strikes is really a no big deal especially during a Pandemic that most already feel different about their sports. Last thing you want to see is the military involvement especially with a lot of them having a distrust for the current White House. Sports on strike...nothing to cry about in my opinion even though I'm a big sports fan with strong ties to the military. wrbtrader
I don’t believe the Military/White House distrust narrative. Personally know many Vet’s and Active, all are Pro Trump. The rioting only seems to continually grow as we get closer to this election. The hands-off approach we have seen in Democratic run cities has backfired and made things worse. Most of these Governors have no other option than to bring in the National Guard
How many retired Generals have "publicly" spoken up about their views of the White House that are still embedded closely with current serving Generals in both the Navy, Army and Marines ? At least a dozen if not more. How many current military leaders have spoken up about the church prop fiasco...two of them. How many (percentage) of West Point students or Naval Academy students with Democratic families... I'm going to guess about 60%. Remember, the military is loyal to no matter whom is the President. That loyalty is only tested when a President entertains foreign (anti-American) individuals. I'm sure you know about the political history of certain cities in the U.S. Their problems started from the prohibition days when both the Republicans and Democrats were interconnected with gangsters...many of whom were immigrants. Simply, politics and crime goes hand and hand...its been that way since the early 1900's. Regardless, to all the above. I only remember one other time when there was a distrust for the U.S. President...it was during the Nixon years. My old man and his buddies...all officers hated the guy and celebrated when he resigned after the Watergate fiasco. He wouldn't have lasted that long had he not been a former Naval officer. That alone gave him a little respect by the military versus those that never served. Anyways, I too know many vets and current serving officers, enlisted and a few cadets. They're not voting for Trump and I think its more to do with the political background of their families. Most of the distrust started when Mr. Trump threaten to use active-duty troops across the country to stop peaceful protesters. I'm not talking about the riots at night...I'm talking about using them during the day against peaceful protesters that were predominantly young people, elderly, children, veterans that were protesting against police brutality. Had he stated he was ONLY going to use troops against rioters at night that were rioting after curfew...different story. Here's a story you may not know about but may soon here about... There was a retired Marine officer peacefully protesting during the day. National guard showed up during the protest...getting ready for the curfew. The retired Marine Officer peacefully protesting saw his young adult son whom is serving his country too...an adult son among the National Guard. Trust me...you don't want to split the country like that. The distrust picked up steam when the story broke about Putin paying for a bounty on our American troops that are killed. As long as that issue is left out there and not dealt with...there's a distrust. You can click on the below link to see whom (Democrats and Republicans) that have military backgrounds. I haven't done the tally of the numbers. http://caucus.militarytimes.com/members/ Military Leaders Distrust @ https://www.military.com/daily-news...military-leaders-publicly-denounce-trump.html Top Military Officers Unload on Trump @ https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2019/11/military-officers-trump/598360/ If there's two common words I've heard from my military friends about Trump and its repeated in TheAtlantic article above about what is being stated by the Officers that were interviewed... Deeply Disturbed. wrbtrader
I don’t know that many Generals or USMA grads, but I know lot’s of service men and women who work for a living..... they all hated the direction Obama took the military. They all like Trump.
The issue isn't Obama...its Trump when it comes to the military. Obama took over after a prior President fight against some really bad people. He also took over a global financial crisis in which he helped dig the U.S. out of it and then handed Trump a renewed growing economy on a silver platter. Yet, Obama's problem was the initial soft stance on terrorists but he got some claps when his administration finally realize you just can't negotiate in good faith with terrorists... Sometimes you just gotta seek and destroy before they do it again. Anyways, his administration eventually caught the worst of the worst (the Leader) that I refuse today to repeat his name. I prefer to call that guy the terrorist as...the scum bag. Trump and his relationship with Putin is deeply disturbing...don't take my word about him. Just talk to any commanding officers you may still know. They know those two words...deeply disturbing. NBA players are a bunch of prima donnas. They know if they don't play the white people who come to their games and pay their checks will stop going and then they will have to get a real job. IF they can even find one or do one.
God forbid Black people speak up.....I know you all want them to stay on the plantation and do their jobs like good boys.... Lebron should shut up and dribble but the RNC has no issue using black athletes to praise the President...
Yeah, shutdown the MLB, NBA, NFL, MLS, Nascar. I am already boycotting all of them and their top corporate sponsors. Once, you are used not watching these primadonnas the likes of Lebron James, Stephen Curry, Colin Kaepernick and others, who misses these ass clowns?
