NFL, NBA care zero for their fans, specially in this Covid, limited capacity world we currently reside. They have attached themselves as part of the Corporate Oligarchy and are only concerned with obeying and perpetuating the Liberal Agenda.
What will it take to make these clowns happy? Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid blast an NFL social-justice video that shows them kneeling during the anthem https://www.insider.com/colin-kaepernick-eric-reid-blast-nfl-social-justice-video-2020-9 The NFL played a video about social justice that showed Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid kneeling during the national anthem to protest police brutality. Kaepernick and Reid both criticized the video on Twitter, calling the league's stance "half-hearted" and "diabolical." Kaepernick and Reid both filed collusion grievances against the NFL that were settled in 2019. Both are currently unsigned. Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid, who both started kneeling during the national anthem to protest police brutality in 2016, are criticizing the NFL's "half-hearted" messages of social justice. During Week 1 of the NFL season, the league played a video in each stadium promoting social justice and racial equality, according to ESPN. The video included an image of Kaepernick and Reid kneeling during the national anthem with the San Francisco 49ers four years ago. Kaepernick has gone unsigned in the NFL since beginning the anthem protest. Reid played two years with the Carolina Panthers, but was released this year and is also unsigned. "While the NFL runs propaganda about how they care about Black life, they are still actively blackballing Eric Reid (@E_Reid35) for fighting for the Black community," Kaepernick tweeted on Sunday. "Eric set 2 franchise records last year, and is one of the best defensive players in the league." Reid called the NFL's gesture "diabolical" in a tweet on Monday. "What the @NFL is doing is half-hearted at best. @nflcommish has gotten comfortable saying he 'was wrong' as if his mere acknowledgment reconciles his admitted wrongdoing," Reid tweeted. "He hasn't even called Colin to apologize, let alone reconcile, proving this is only PR for the current business climate. As such, Roger Goodell uses video of Colin courageously kneeling to legitimize their disingenuous PR while simultaneously perpetuating systemic oppression, that the video he's using fights against, by continuing to rob Colin of his career. It's diabolical." In June, Goodell apologized for the NFL's previous stance on player protests, which included a rule that prevented players from kneeling during the national anthem. Goodell said in August that he wished he had "listened earlier" to Kaepernick's message. He said he would welcome a team to sign Kaepernick. The NFL fields also include messages of racial equality this season, and players can put messages on their helmets as well. Kaepernick and Reid both filed collusion grievances against the NFL alleging team owners colluded in not signing them. They settled for an undisclosed amount in 2019. During Week 1 of the 2020 season, seven teams stayed in the locker room during the playing of the national anthem, while many other players kneeled.
Mike Ditka again addresses players protesting national anthem: 'If you can't respect this country, get the hell out of it' Ditka added: 'I would tell those players go to another country and play football there' https://www.foxnews.com/sports/mike...onal-anthem-cant-respect-country-get-hell-out
Waiting for the day these millionaire NFL primadonnas get cut and they lose their contracts and corporate sponsors to abandon the NFL because they have become irrelevant.
No one wants to see a bunch of entitled thugs acting like cry babies and memorializing people that committed crimes amd resisted arrest.
What if Ditka got fired for saying what he said....then he would bitch and moan that he was fired for saying what he feels....but God forbid other people get to do what they want if he does not like it... Ditka turned into a pussy
When will the NFL get the point that people are tired of politics in their sports.... enough already. ‘Sunday Night Football’ Viewership Declines 17% In The Early Ratings From Week 1 https://dailycaller.com/2020/09/21/sunday-night-football-viewership-17-percent-decline-week-1/ The Seattle Seahawks beating the New England Patriots on “Sunday Night Football” didn’t get great TV ratings. According to Deadline, the early ratings are not impressive for “SNF” and the audience was only 12.22 million viewers on NBC. That’s a 17% decline from Week 1. Now, the final numbers will almost certainly rise a little bit, but it’s still not pretty. Well, this certainly isn’t a great look for the NFL at all. While it’s impossible to say one single thing has caused a decline, I have a feeling we all know one issue that has played a major role. People hate how political pro sports have become. It’s just the truth. The average fan wants to kick back and enjoy the game. That’s just the reality of the situation. It no longer feels like the NFL is about winning and losing games. It feels like it’s about lecturing fans around the clock. Average Americans don’t want to be lectured by millionaire athletes. They just don’t! Welcome to reality, my friends! Hopefully, the NFL opens their eyes to what the fans and consumers want. If not, these ratings might not get better for a long time.
NBA to leave BLM, social justice messaging 'off the floor' next season, says Commissioner Adam Silver Silver: 'And I understand those people who are saying ''I’m on your side, but I want to watch a basketball game.'' https://www.foxnews.com/sports/nba-...-largely-left-delivered-off-floor-next-season NBA Commissioner Adam Silver made an appearance on NBA Countdown earlier this week to talk about the social justice messages that the league has on their basketball courts, as well as on players’ jerseys. Silver says these messages will be “largely left off the floor” next season. “We’re completely committed to standing for social justice and racial equality and that’s been the case going back decades,” Silver said in the interview. “It’s part of the DNA of this league. How it gets manifested is something we’re gonna have to sit down with the players and discuss for next season. Silver continued: “I would say, in terms of the messages you see on the court and our jerseys, this was an extraordinary moment in time when we began these discussions with the players and what we all lived through this summer. My sense is there’ll be somewhat a return to normalcy, that those messages will largely be left to be delivered off the floor. “And I understand those people who are saying ‘I’m on your side, but I want to watch a basketball game.’” Friday’s Game 2 of the series between the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat was watched by 6.07 million viewers, a drop from last year’s Game 2 Finals, and from this year’s Game 1 (7.41 million). Game 3 ratings fell again to 5.94 million viewers, marking the least-watched NBA Finals game on record, according to Sports Media Watch. Some have consistently pointed to the NBA embracing social justice issues right off the bat of its restarted season in the bubble. The NBA allowed players to wear social justice messages on the back of their jerseys and painted Black Lives Matter on the court for each game that was played at Disney World in Orlando, Fla., while staying silent on other major issues in the world, including atrocities in China. For those reasons, and because Games 1 and 2 were relatively uncompetitive, fans appeared to have turned off the NBA. Following Game 3 of the NBA Finals, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and Sen. Ted Cruz engaged in a heated debate over Twitter on Tuesday as the latest numbers showed another dip in ratings for Game 3 of the NBA Finals. While a number of reasons could have played into the dip, including the unusual timing of the season caused by the pandemic, Cruz took to social media to suggest that player protests were the cause. “Not surprising. Personally speaking, this is the first time in years that I haven’t watched a single game in the NBA Finals,” he said using the hashtag “#GoWokeGoBroke.” The tweet caught the attention of Cuban who took offense to the Senator’s stance “A US Senator with 3 @NBA teams in his state, employing thousands of people and he is rooting for their businesses to do poorly,” he wrote. “This is who you are @tedcruz . Every minute of your life, this is exactly who you are.” Cruz fired back saying that he has been a life-long Houston Rockets fan and has always supported his state’s teams but decided against it after claiming that the NBA “is engaged in a concerted effort to (1) insult their fans & (2) turn every game into a left-wing political lecture. That’s dumb.” But Cuban wasn’t buying it. “You are so full of s--t. You haven't watched a game of the finals, how would you know what is being said or done? Since when is a desire to end racism an insult to anyone or political? And you don't think using #GetWokeGoBroke is a partisan insult? Again, this is who you are.” Cruz replied: “I wish @mcuban loved his fans as much as he loves Chinese money.” “Shame on me for putting American Civil Rights and Justice, creating jobs, growing our economy and healthcare reform over twitter proclamations,” Cuban said. The Lakers came away with a 102-96 victory over the Heat in Game 4 on Tuesday. Next, Game 5 will be played on Friday.
