That number simply doesn't pass the smell test. I can't believe that many would tune out over something like this.
David Hookstead asked in a Twitter poll. That begs the question, who is David Hookstead? He works for the Daily Caller, a right-wing news organization founded by Tucker Carlson. The people answering his poll on Twitter aren't representative of the general population.
This is what you get when you do a Twitter poll. I don't think the number is representative either. But having the poll and getting a significant sized response shows that the issue resonates. The fact that our local sportscasts seem to spend half of their time on the kneeling issue and if games will/will not be played shows the spot light being shined on this.
Ah, its a Twitter poll. That explains it. A twitter poll will be heavily skewed to who asks the question, because their followers tend to be of their philosophy.
Agree. I've tired of watching rich black guys play sports and then bitch about how "life ain't fair". Thank goodness there is hockey.... small, tough white guys... many missing a few teeth!
My guess would be COVID, but on Believe it or not, I’m not gay. Therefore it’s gotta be something else. My guess is that it’s probably due to COVID. It’s also been going on during the summer which is out of its typical season. My guess is that the demographic that hates kneeling/BLM enough to boycott sports doesn’t overlap NBA viewership that much. Football on the other hand might take a more significant hit since its audience is more conservative than the NBA’s.
Everyone should stand for our National Anthem. Its our country. So many have died. And yeah I know, sh*t like Vietnam... but still, we are making progress. I always think to myself what would it have been like to step out of a troop carrier on the beaches of Normandy knowing damn well you were gonna die. For your country. I wonder what those young men would have thought about kneeling for the National Anthem. Despite the current narrative, its a small percentage of cops. Yes there exists racism, but the proper way to address this is not by denouncing the flag that so many have unselfishly given their lives for without question. Black and white. Especially black in the war in S.E. Asia. Yeah, they were f'd over in a big way. So were a lot of white kids too. This kind of political crap, like that war, is f'd up. Say what you want, but to his credit, at least President bone spurs hasn't started a new one. He certainly could have. They all do. We have less than 10K troops in Afghanastan and Iraq now. At least thats what he said today. Thats a good thing imo. F these global proxy wars. We have the tech now to identify and eliminate a rag-tag threat in the blink of an eye, and that's exactly what these s-hole places are all about. Yes, we have issues, but there exists no country that hasn't had its share of skeletons. These f'rs need to respect the flag. They are making high 6 figure salaries on the shoulders of those that gave the ultimate sacrifice. They need to know if they pulled this in China or NK, they would be carted off, never to be heard from again. A little thankfulness and respect would be nice. We take way too much for granted with our myopic level of near-sightedness and adhd that somehow has imperviated our very culture. jmho, and I don't watch the nfl or nba anyway.
Extreme liberal media just came out with a bogus article saying the majority approve of the NFL players kneeling for the national anthem. You do not have to be a genius to see that is a big, fat lie. Ratings for NBA and MLB has been down indicating less people watching. I have stopped watching NBA, NFL and now MLB. Have also, avoided buying products of the major sponsors spending the most monies of these 3 leagues. I will continue to urge as many Americans to boycott those corporate advertisers. They are enabling these millionaire players disrespecting the US anthem and flag to continue acting up like little children. That is right, they have the right to protest. As consumers, we have the right to boycott teams and their advertisers to the extent that we cut some of the monies flowing into their pockets to show our displeasure. The less people supporting the NBA, NFL and MLB, the better. At some point, the owners will cut the salaries of the primadonnas or outright cut them to save monies. After all, it is still a business.
