Three Trump allies charged in Wisconsin fake elector scheme

The Wisconsin attorney general on Tuesday filed charges against three allies of Donald Trump accused of taking part in the effort to put forth a slate of fake electors and usurp the 2020 presidential election, according to online court records.

The men – Kenneth Chesebro, a right-wing attorney who helped devise the fake elector plot; Jim Troupis, a former Trump lawyer; and Michael Roman, a former Trump campaign official – are each facing a single forgery charge.

Wisconsin is the latest state to bring charges against people connected to the former president involved in the broad effort to overturn the presidential election results. State prosecutors in Michigan, Arizona, Nevada and Georgia also have brought charges against a swath of Trump’s allies.

An attorney for Chesebro declined to comment. CNN has reached out to attorneys for Troupis and Roman.

Democratic Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers issued a one word response to the charges Tuesday: “Good.”

CNN previously reported that Chesebro was helping investigators in at least four states, including Wisconsin, who were looking into the fake electors scheme. Chesebro’s lawyers had believed that his cooperation would be enough for him to stave off charges.

Last year, the 10 fake electors from Wisconsin disavowed their attempt to overturn Trump’s defeat in 2020, recognized the legitimacy of President Joe Biden’s victory, and pledged not to serve as real electors in 2024 or any election when Trump is on the ballot – or to act as sham electors in any future election, as part of a civil lawsuit settlement.

The 10 fake electors issued a statement acknowledging that the phony certificates they signed in December 2020 were “used as part of an attempt to improperly overturn” the lawful election results.

“We hereby reaffirm that Joseph R. Biden, Jr. won the 2020 presidential election and that we were not the duly elected presidential electors for the State of Wisconsin for the 2020 presidential election,” says a portion of their statement. “We oppose any attempt to undermine the public’s faith in the ultimate results of the 2020 presidential election.”

A cautionary tale for the next batch of dimwitted suckers willing to stick their necks out for the Convicted Felon.

'Ridiculous expectations': Former Trump lawyer Jenna Ellis mocked as she complains ex-prez didn't give co-defendants 'one dime'
    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/poli...idn-t-give-co-defendants-one-dime/ar-BB1nTEDy

WASHINGTON, DC: Former Donald Trump attorney Jenna Ellis criticized the 45th president for not providing financial support to his co-defendants despite reportedly raising a substantial sum following the guilty verdict in the New York hush-money case.

The attorney denounced the Republican presumptive nominee on social media while responding to a report by The Post Millennial, a right-wing news outlet, that claimed the real estate mogul's campaign raised $400 million since he became a convicted felon last month, as per Newsweek.

Ellis, who was part of Trump's legal team during the 2020 presidential campaign, is one of the 18 co-defendants in the election interference case in Fulton County, Georgia, for supporting the former president's attempt to overturn Joe Biden's victory in the 2020 election.

Jenna Ellis says Donald Trump did not give 'one dime' to his co-defendants
In a series of X (formerly Twitter) posts, Ellis accused Trump of not financially helping his co-defendants, who had massive legal fees to cover.

"$400M reportedly raised. And still not ONE DIME given to anyone else indicted," the former Trump attorney wrote. "Incredible."

In another post on X, Ellis emphasized she was not complaining about herself and asked everyone to take her "out of the equation." She added, "Why hasn't he given to literally ANYONE else's dedebse? J6ers? Pro-lifers targeted?"

"And yet his co-defendants are going bankrupt," Ellis said in another post, noting former Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows "reportedly has spent everything he has on legal fees."

"A lot of regular people need help in their defenses, not just the billionaire," she continued her Trump bashing.

Last year, Ellis pleaded guilty in the Georgia election interference case after agreeing to cooperate with prosecutors. During her guilty plea at the Fulton County court, the former Trump attorney stated she had "deep remorse" for being a part of an attempt to reverse the former president's 2020 election defeat.

  9. Dr. Anthony Fauci, the infectious disease expert who advised the federal government on its response to the COVID-19 pandemic, detailed his whiplash-inducing relationship with Donald Trump in his new memoir.

Excerpts from the book, “On Call: A Doctor’s Journey in Public Service,” were shared Thursday by several media outlets the week before its scheduled release.

“The president was irate, saying that I could not keep doing this to him. He said he loved me, but the country was in trouble, and I was making it worse,” Fauci reportedly wrote, noting that the then-president’s comments to him were often laden with expletives.

“I have a pretty thick skin, but getting yelled at by the president of the United States, no matter how much he tells you that he loves you, is not fun,” he recalled, according to excerpts quoted by the Times.

“I am going to win this election by a fucking landslide,” Trump said, according to Fauci’s book. “Just wait and see. I always did things my way. And I always win, no matter what all these other fucking people think. And that fucker Biden. He is so fucking stupid. I am going to kick his fucking ass in this election.”
