Trump-Backed Newcomer Wins Crowded GOP Primary in Ohio, Expected to Win in November
    https://trendingpolitics.com/40674-2/

A Republican newcomer running amidst a crowded GOP field for a House seat in Ohio notched a victory after being endorsed by former President Donald Trump, reports said Wednesday.

Mike Carrey, a coal industry lobbyist who has never held public elected office, beat out 11 other GOP candidates to win his party’s nomination to Ohio’s 155th Congressional District, to replace Rep. Steve Stivers.

Several of his GOP competitors also had the backing of big-name Republicans but failed to win the nomination.

RNC Chief Ronna McDaniel Makes Clear Trump Still the Big Boss of the GOP
    https://trendingpolitics.com/rnc-ch...es-clear-trump-still-the-big-boss-of-the-gop/
There is no question that former President Donald Trump remains in control of the GOP, according to Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel.

In an interview Sunday on “The Cats Roundtable” on WABC 770-N.Y, McDaniel noted that Trump can still draw vibrant crowds at rallies and has an ability to raise incredible amounts of money on behalf of the party and candidates he supports.

“You know I always say, go back to the voter, and I think when you see the amount of people that show up to the rallies for President Trump, and this $102 million fundraising haul, I think the voters in America — Republicans in America — would absolutely say the president’s the most popular Republican and still leads the party,” she said.

“He’s in,” said Spicer, author of “Radical Nation: Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s Dangerous Plan for America,” which has already become an Amazon pre-sale bestseller.

I still say Trump won't run.

He will act as an ablative shield for someone else who will draft Trump's wheel and come out to dominate the last climb.

The DOJ Admits It is Withholding Potentially Exculpatory Evidence in January 6 Criminal Cases in Legal Filing
    https://trendingpolitics.com/the-do...anuary-6-criminal-cases-in-legal-filing-knab/

The Department of Justice has provided one of the first documented concessions that prosecutors are withholding potentially exculpatory evidence in court cases concerning January 6 defendants.

Acting United States Attorney Channing D. Phillips suggested on Monday that this is the motivation behind keeping more than 14,000 hours of documentary footage of the January 6 events out of the hands of defense attorneys and the public in United States v. Couy Griffin.

Griffin, a county commissioner for Otero County, New Mexico, was arrested for Entering and Remaining in a Restricted Building and Disorderly and Disruptive Conduct in a Restricted Building, on January 19. The prosecution sought to waive the defendants’ right to a speedy trial.

The defendant was released on his own personal recognizance on February 5, 2021. On March 18, 2021, the United States filed a motion for a 60-day continuance of the proceeding, according to the court filing.

The government’s reasoning on the continuance motion was that the Capitol Breach investigation was so complex and sweeping that it would “make the immediate legal proceeding impossible, or result in a miscarriage of justice,” the prosecutors argued. The defense called the prosecution’s bluff. The U.S. attorneys did not want to give the defendant a speedy trial because they have other concerns.
