This is the issue from the court Who will decide is the person killed by the president is an unfortunate teenager or a rival......My guess is that you don't get drone killed by the President if you are not a rival
His father was a terrorist. An enemy of the state. The young man was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Fog of war. Collateral damage. Unfortunate, but a reality. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_of_Abdulrahman_al-Awlaki Trump is going down. Get over your butt hurt.
So Trump and his lawyers are in court today saying that he can order the murders of political rivals, sell pardons, and commit whatever crime he pleases. Tell us how you find this to be appropriate. Trump attorney says presidents can’t be prosecuted for selling pardons or ordering murders Mr Trump’s lawyer made the chilling argument before a three-judge panel of the US Court Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit on Tuesday https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...rdon-defense-murder-prosecution-b2475769.html
Within the the three branches of government they have checks and balances on the other branch When a crime is committed the first thing is to remove them from office...its been done before Then they would be prosecuted. There is a snag with the President because he does have immunity....Congress may need to create new law to deal with that It may not apply to Trump..because he has was found innocent through impeachment....the DOJ needs to prove to the court that Trump was acting as an office "seeker" and not an "office" holder....One would need to prove Trump was campaigning
This is a succinct summary for everyone: The president of the United States enjoys absolute immunity from many lawsuits while in office; it is legally untested whether they also enjoy criminal immunity from arrest or prosecution. Neither civil nor criminal immunity is explicitly granted in the Constitution or any federal statute. The idea that a President can commit a crime (insurrection etc. is a federal crime) and be immune from prosecution is so stupid I dont know why some of you are pushing this immunity bullshit. Immunity from lawsuits is not the same as immunity from criminal prosecution. A good example is police being immune from lawsuits (people sue the city instead) but they are not immune from criminal prosection (George Floyd's cops anyone). A president is not immune from being prosecuted from a crime. Impeachment is not a criminal trial, it is a removal from office process, it has no weight on criminal conviction even if someone is impeached because of a crime, they would still have to be convicted of that crime.
