Many that are schooled in the Rise of Nazism (Hitler) know that Hitler said the same thing but not sarcastically...saying what he would "do only on day one". I do remember two interviews where Trump said the same thing with a big fucking smile on his face while turning to scan people's faces in the audience as if to receive a pat on the back. The Night of the Long Knives, also known as the Röhm Putsch or Operation Hummingbird, was a purge of Nazi leaders and political opponents that took place in Nazi Germany between June 30 and July 2, 1934. Hitler essentially went on a killing spree, with multiple arrests by the hands of Germany's paramilitary SS and the Gestapo (secret police) to purge his political enemies including those who were outspoken against him. Some of the murders were framed as suicide to prevent an uprising. 100s were killed and +1000 were arrested. The purge strengthened Hitler's power and it was a point of no return for Germany leading to a great war against some of those that Hitler had highly praised as his allies (e.g. Russia). wrbtrader
