Just as an aside. Ursula K Le Guin was a brilliant writer passed in 2018 at 88 but was remarkable in that up until the end her ideas were still being picked up by young people and trending on TicTok. I still have my copy of "The lathe of heaven" around somewhere.
Still not sure why you're all fighting little old me? Even the "great" @destriero has come out of the woodwork? I'm honored to be trolled by him now too, lol. Have some more kool-aid and enjoy the strong Harris polling numbers. My vote isn't going to swing an entire election... you think? Or maybe you like ganging up and picking on small minorities? Doesn't sound like the same tenets you're all professing. Hmmm?!??! Anyway, have a party... you've won; it will be an electoral blow out. Don't even bother going to the polls or mailing in a ballot; it's in the bag.

So the disagreement isn't about the existence of moral disengagement, but rather about whether it is more prevalent in one group over others.
The old "basket of deplorables" argument? I think the mistake you're making in your analysis is dealing w/ groups instead of individuals. Every person is unique in their being. So, you can't build a perfectly coherent or stable model on a shaky foundation.
