Yes, yes, yes. No one can argue on the fact that the US education system has been in decline for some time. So every Lib here just joins hands in ad hom’s and mocking people’s homes. Sad lot.
We live in a country where parents can’t even do their kids 9th grade math but claim they are experts on vaccine science. The average high school junior will smoke you in almost any subject, and their technology skills are incredible. As to other countries compared to the US, it’s actually true that on whole we do fare poorly but when you break it down by state, the level of educational attainment in my state (a blue state) competes well. Your state probably not so much. What is important to understand about this is that most other countries have a national education system, we do not so be mindful that what you see where you live is not true across America.
I’ve been in business for myself for over 30 years, traveling extensively in association. I’ve vacationed in Hawaii, only state I haven’t step foot is Alaska. The problem’s I see with today’s youth are not limited by state or area. I don’t know what state you live in. True, Oklahoma has been in the lower bracket on education. One of the campaign goals of our new governor is to bring Oklahoma into the “Top Tens”. Education being one of the areas for improvement. We’ve increased our Teachers pay, school funding. We’re headed in the right direction but have a long way to go.
I’m not trying to knock Oklahoma. Good for you guys for starting to address the issue. Education ain’t cheap but it is a good investment. A more educated population will attract investment and economic growth. What I am saying is that the kids are well educated around me, especially in STEM.
