Love how Nine_Ender thinks Canada is some utopian dream, he has clearly never lived in the battle field or seen it. In Canada i would be willing to bet that the Native/white Achievement gap is far greater than the black/white achievement gap in the states, and its just another example of liberal failure. Liberals have been throwing money at natives for years. They even have their own rules set up on reserves so that if you commit a crime on a reserve instead of going to jail you can go to a sentencing circle, whereby they will send you to an island in the middle of northern canada for a spiritual quest for a month. Of course the same thing has happened to the natives that happened to black people in the states, they are the lowest on the poll on every single economic indicator, the smart ones all leave the reserve while it becomes more and more violent and more and more deadly for the people trying to attain success there. Liberals like Nine_Ender have probably never even been to one of these places, but i played semi pro hockey in Saskatchewan (Chasing the dream while they paid me 200 bucks a game ) Some of these reserves are so fucking bad we were lucky to make it out alive, the players on the teams on the reserves were all fine, they were there for the same reason as us just wanted to play hockey, but the fans would wait outside the rink and try to fight us on the way to the bus, numerous instances with the RCMP called, we were lucky to get out of some of those places alive. One game had to be called cause of shots fired, i quit shortly after that realising it wasnt worth it to play in the bush leagues since i was going no where anyways. Liberals have pumped money into that system for decades and it seems to just keep getting worse and worse, as they tell everyone its not their fault that their communities are falling apart, and all of the smart ones leave. Of course these places are mostly lead by hucksters like jesse jackson or alsharpton. The only solution is personal responsibility, the problems will never fix themselves so long as people tell them they are justified. Now i know im going to get the textbook response here that says i am a racist so i will state this i dont think blacks or natives are any dumber than whites, but clearly there is a problem with culture in some of these communities when no amount of money/pity solves the problem, and the people who manage to get out/come from other countries drastically outperform the ones born there, even though they come from countries far less "priviledged" than canada. Because inherently America is a meritocracy and those immigrants ARE better. They are smarter, harder working, and tougher than their native born black and white counterparts. They had to be to make it here. Just like the Europeans who made it here in the 1700s.
Yeah i agree with that 100%, the immigrants who come here legally have more drive cause they HAVE to succeed, so that just tells you there is a problem in american culture, there is a problem in white culture, but a far more pervasive one in black culture, where liberals have preached for decades there should be no responsibility for your actions whatsoever. How can it be all based on race when black immigrants outperform white natives? Its a problem of culture, immigrant blacks are doing better than native whites so how can you blame it all on racism?
North York board of education covers some of the richest and poorest neighborhoods in Canada. I am very familiar with this school system. As bad as Jane and Finch might be by Canadian standards, it's far better then many American inner cities. It is impossible for a city the size of Metro Toronto ( the same size as Chicago ) to not have some poverty stricken areas with low income housing and drug problems. The fact that the overall board is flush with many high achieving students impacts on the "gap". As is the tendency for many immigrants to buy up housing next to certain schools, and the streaming of "gifted" students out of local schools and into regional designated schools. But you know better, don't you, and you have this reporter who has an agenda to inform you. If you think Canadians do less for these neighborhoods and the people in them then Americans do in similar neighborhoods, well, I disagree with you but you are welcome to your opinion.
As for "North York" if you consider that a rough area you are really hopeless, but ill give you a pass on that one since you probably live right by yorkdale shopping center, and you consider the vagrants living on your walk to U of T to be hostile. LOL, ive been to Jane and Finch too, when i was driving my dump truck, to pay for school. there is a somewhat decent mall right on the corner, I walked right in sat down and ate some korean food, and left no problems whatsoever. My friends thought i was insane the next day, but i really didnt know any better, Didnt even realise i was in a shit hole cause all the housing is somewhat new, ill give you that canadas "inner city" ghettos are much nicer than the states, i was a naieve hillbilly didnt realise i was in a bad place. I will give you that we are much better at dressing up our shitholes so people will go there........ Buuuuuuuut you are comparing Jane and Finch too Compton, try going to a reserve in Lac Laronge, or "The Pas" in northern Manitoba, those places are a free for all, just like i assumed before, you are a naieve liberal who has never seen the real ghettos in canada.

NE doesn't seem to realize that education is primarily a locally run system in the US. The vast majority of the shit school systems are run by far left minority dominated local governments. Their corruption and incompetency are obvious, but someone has to elect them. It is the same residents who do not value education but who vote strictly on racial lines.
