You're brainwashed. I haven't heard anyone who has demanded prosecution or a lynching, that's just stupid. He belongs to a billionaire club and he may or may not suffer consequences from his club members. If they kick him out of the club that's their business isn't it, or do you not really believe in free association. If State Farm does not want to associate with the Clippers that's their choice, or do you not really believe in free association. In America you can say all they stupid and hateful things you want and you can associate with assholes like yourself, no one is stopping you, you're free to do as you wish no one will legally persecute you or lynch you.
Well said, +1. But what is the general tea party opinion on this whole Sterling episode? We need to get the tea party out front this year, so all America can hear their good ideas.
The general tea party shouldn't have any opinion on it at all, since they should only be concerned with Constitutional issues. You know, that document the left is always so eager to trounce?
Legal sanctions ? If not then it's strictly freedom of association or freedom to not associate and freedom of speech.
The Washington Post has had daily opinion pieces by various sportswriter morons advocating that the league take the team away from him. I'm not defending Sterling any more than I defend Bundy. Bundy is probably more defensible. Sterling is either borderline senile or just willfully self-destructive. Still. It bothers me that a guy can be punished with little in the way of due process for a thought crime. Let's say he is hopelessly prejudiced. So what? The laws prohibit discriminatory actions, not thoughts or private words. Liberals are passionate about defending free speech and unpopular positions, provided they agree with them. when it is something that runs afoul of their PC code, then the gloves come off. Their first instinct is to try to destroy the person. We saw it with the traditional marriage referendum in california. They are still out trying to ferret out supporters of that so they can be persecuted. These are the same people who celebrate the Hollywood communists of the 1950's as some kind of national heroes because they faced the same kind of persecution. The difference is Sterling is not trying to convert anybody. He was having an argument with his 25 year old GF.
I find it quite interesting for blacks to tell their kids, friends and family, very openly "don't hang out with whitey," then they flip shitty when someone white says the opposite. Black America is going to force opinions on America, and sadly it will be enforced as the norm. The new endangered "species" in America is the white male.
