this is an article about the dollar. i think it left out the point about oil. it is still good though. at the end it makes points about the pound being the main currency. look what happened to britain when that changed. if you do lose this position it will likely be the end of the us. i think it is also telling of how nations are made through international beliefs instead of the core of the economy. when the strength of the pound was taken away the country was on its knees in decades the manufacturing and services were not what they were made out to be. the only reason britain lasted so long with out collapse was the north sea oil and financial services both are about the fail. http://www.voxeu.org/index.php?q=node/4819
