My orientation on the web has just been to comment on questions other's raise about stuff. The stuff they ask about was of interest to me mostly based on my experience and mentoring others face to face. Once for a while an office I participated in had a daily posting of the ES. I wrote up some comments there. This is winding down here and the game plan is to use the critical mass that exists to do the variety of things that grow out of the IP and TS developed. The money aspect of web communicatins really does something to the way it is possible to connect with others. I'm more oriented to helping than debating or arguing. Academically, the standards are not so oriented to money issues but more oriented to the intellectual merits of stuff. Proof academically or in mentoring what I am more used to. Blogs seem to be personal expressions of the moment and what it portrays. Occasionally, I am the subject of other's feelings, etc. i don't comment in the blogs. There are many .coms I see as web sites. In these I get assigned a lot of things. Again, I do not participate although I know they are used to make money in some cases. Using an alternative algorithm for the CW for over 50 years has been fun. Probably, the most fun has come up when I traded at various brokerages along the way. The period of voice recognition was the most entertaining. Here the circumstances, dictate how I am allowed to participate.
Makes sense: a blog is one way, i.e. unidirectional. But it sounds like you've got a few followers. Why not make a blog and put down some of your thoughts? The reason I say that is that right now if someone wants to find out what you think, they have to hack and slash through a thousand threads on three different sites. Why not put some of it into a more organized body of thought?
Convenience is a terrific theme. We have several approaches to that. The mess you see does have a terrific GO TO component though. And monthly edits were done on the posting in 2007 to combine pertinent text, illustrations, and have contents and references. When I was healthy enough to be reliable for attending meetings I did make camtasias and transcribe and illustrate those. All this is available from managed archives. All the IP and TS was handled as well in an archival and processing sense. Lots of poundage. The other themes we discoverd that were inportant were: mind building; learning how to learn; business planning and the trading plan. I settled on focusing on a set of references that are documents (5) w/electronic media support. Roughly speaking, a single platform (FA/TA) for the algorithm was needed. I would be hard put to explain the work required for this. The PositScience electronic approach, we parallel for mind building. Reading "The Brain that Changes Itself" N. Doige, MD is a good orientation text and it emphasizes the approach of PositScience team in some chapters. Establishing long term memory and ultimately shifting it to the frontal lobe to make trading an unconscious effort was our goal. Delineating differences in transference vs translation was significant. "Effectiveness and Efficiency" combines and emphasizes learning and technique application. It is not available at this point. I am generating a Business Plan text and workbook for traders. It will be similar to the "Fuel From Farms" chapters on business planning for small scale alcohol plants which are serviced by tanker trucks (about 30 years ago). All the above is intended as a resourse for anyone. The model and the development occurred. The combo of SCT feeding PVT feeding sector rotation allows for unlimited extraction of capital from the financial industry. Retail individuals will do part of this as independent practitioners all over the world. So far we have confirmed 25 exchanges. Learned people hone their skills and knowledge by passing it forward as further mind building. When this effort is completed, then another opportunity looms financially and in problem solving. Often IRS 1023 approaches are used and so are for profit approaches using C corps, etc. 1023's are stalled at February this year right now for tracks 2 and 3. Fast tracking canned versions get cleared for fast track in about a week as well. When doing extraction at market capacity levels, there are some market effects to consider and maybe some "other player" interactions to deal with.
You know, this a common theme for you: trying to intermarry and intermingle different disciplines. It's almost like you're trying to find a Theory of Everything for Life and Trading. But I'm not sure that's really possible?
When I was in academics and immediately after, I was doing the NGO problem solving. AT UCSC, I ran two of the five divisions at that time. One was the original Environmental Group and the other was Academic Interface Programs. There were many GO RFP's at the time that espoused interdisciplinary problem solving. I used a simulation and gaming program to solve problems and it was called REPS (Realistic Environmental Problem Solving). Another effort was red lining PL 92- 500. All of these were interdisciplinary in orientation. The four components of becoming expert in trading which I mentioned do originate in diverse places. If you read anecdotal interviews of people who put pieces together, you will see similar efforts. in the JUN/JUL issue of SmallBiz's in person section, Yvon Chouinard makes a good point as to how Patagonia was created. (See page 66) He averes that if you want to find out what makes entrepreneurship work, you should study juvenile delinquents. Juvenile deliquents are multidisciplinary out of necessity. So is studying them. If one looks at those who escape the CW to make high velocity money, mostly they are out of the box and fully integrated on their mission. They are deliquents from CW and not trapped by it. I'm old, so I have studied myself and found out how it all happened. I had four majors in college and had to always take one or two extra courses to keep on schedule to graduate (I missed by a term). By discovering how pool extraction worked, I avoided having to work, if I ever did, so I did what I wanted. Usually books resulted as part of the deal in Architecture, Environemnt, Energy, Waste Management, etc. It looks like I saved the making money for last as aselective give away (almost). That is simply because I am not a pro but an amateur. What you think may be "everything" is just what is needed to escape the CW. Right now I get to learn how CW doesn't solve my cancer problems; soon I get to let light sensitive (frequency sensitive) concoctions get a wakeup call once they are in me. They will wake up and go to work and eat up cancer along the pathways. Its multidisciplinary too thank goodness.
Very sorry to hear about the cancer. I hope you beat it and get another few decades to test out some of your theories... And I'm not sure how you did four majors: one kept me plenty busy!!
sequentially: CH E, Arch, EE, MSTW, minor in EE. I didn't complete PhD in theoretical phys (I completed my stay at IBM and went to Greenwich, Conn) I've been an adj prof in Arch, ENV an BA. Declined Psychiatry at two places. LOL
lol We do have steven's bank info, etc., that he gave us. LOL He was trying to buy some stuff that wasn't for sale. It makes me wonder sometimes, the way he treats people, why one or another of us don't set him straight? There IS a lot of humor in the distractions. I can count on his posting after me in every place I feel like contributing. He is one of the few people in ET whose post count goes long and short.
