A neighbor of mine had two dogs. One day dog #1 is taking a shit and dog #2 is eating it as it comes out. Eeeeewwwww!! Never seen a cat do that. One of those same dogs came into our yard and Jack (my cat) jumped on his back...scared the shit out of the dog. One evening we had the police knock on the door. A neighbor had been walking his dog and Jack, laying in weight in a ditch, jumped his ass. LOL. Guy called the cops. I said "Oh, that had to be Jack. He is super territorial". Cop just laughed. Jack was the Chuck Norris of cat world. I could regale you with all sorts of stories. Dogs are like a toddler on acid.
Damned fly-by newbs awakening 5YO threads. Both cats and dogs are highly intelligent domestic pets. They express that intelligence in different ways. If you, as a human are too stupid too see that, then perhaps you should get a macaw or an octopus as a pet, which are also highly intelligent. Oy!
Lions are as smart as the smartest large dogs and it's believed this comes from their social complexity. Domestic cats form social colonies but few see how smart ordinary cats can be as few have 30-40+ cats of the same family. Their matriarchal nature create surprisingly complex personalities vs a lone cat in an apartment. Overall dogs are smarter but small dogs are often complete idiots.

Well as I was a wildlife ranger in Africa it was pretty important to know this stuff and it becomes quite obvious from observing. Who compares teenagers? Or colleagues in a habitual manner but especially teenagers?
