Wasnt Oil the wild west back then. I think Rockerfeller was worth around $400 billion in today's dollars. Livermore was probably worth 1% of that.
I wonder if anyone has actually paid the ¢99 yet? Remember the first year is free. So there'll be loads of people who switch after the first year.
This is comedy of the absurd. It's just inflation coming down the pipeline. These guys have so much hot money they don't know what to do with it.
it's looks that way. honestly(and i'm saver and 100% rational a***le)-i would rather just pissed them away on : "Boats 'N Hoes" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8T095mFdW8 at least there is will be something to remember
that is no internet boom. there is no excitement like back then. this are really surveillance arms of to be implanted slavery system. what is market value of such thing ??!?!?!? gl with that.
Pure delusion. Short facebook. Whatsapp is crap. I just deleted it off my blackberry, which I'm about to throw in the garbage. No difference between whatsapp and the hundreds of other rinky dink messaging apps out there. Its nothing. A fart in the cyber world. Nothing more. If somebody told me whatsapp sold for 20 million I'd be surprised. 19 billion???? The play here is to create a social networking site that rivals facebook but doesn't sell personal information. The money is made from shorting facebook and this social networking uber bubble. This is 1999 all over again.
you can have all data you want, but adds have to be effective, in order to recoup those 19B. me ,personally- i never bought anything based on internet ads. actually-i don't even see them, cause i do have blocker for it. don't have FB account either. but it wouldn't surprise me, if at least part of this deal is funded by NSA or whatever agency is in charge to piss our money away. there is a boom in spying going on now. good luck profiting from that.
i'm also curious, if goog did recoup their 1B from youtube? i remember, when they bought them -it also look like a ridiculous amount of money. but imo-youtube has i bigger potential when it comes to adds than some sort of messaging service.
I remember reading that GOOG has already recouped their youtube investment many times over ... but that's "only" $1B vs. $19B for WhatsApp.
