Yes I see that now and could have acknowledged that. I actually read a book called The Poker Face of Wall Street.

It's sort of funny and ironic to me that the city of LasVegas has a public relations problem. I think if one lived there their experience would be different. For example, I live in Florida, but I've never been to Bike Week or the Daytona 500. Never been to Disney while I lived here, either. But that's what many from outside think of immediately. But I have been to the beach.

That's an unbeatable combination because it's source is passion and love. Contrast that to the hate filled, revenge seeking gambler risking everything because he's unable to calculate risk. He might tell us he has it all figured out ... The courier will b arriving with the brief case any moment. :D

    but has he considered everything?

  6. I see nothing really in common with Vegas and trading. Vegas to me is whatever.. I do hit the casinos a few times a year, but I always go in with the mindset that I'll be losing it all and it's just pure entertainment. If I am up $100, I'll usually just take it and run... no matter in how little time I won it.

It's weird though. Every since I started trading, I've only lost $100 once. Every other time, I walk in with $100, and usually leave with more than $200.

I actually grew up in gaming family, all were involved in more of business side of it, illegally of course, but never the less, gaming is never going to go away and where I grew up, they now have it. But you learn probabilities so you can come up with proper odds etc...So after I moved, I was flying to Vegas every weekend which was weekdays, several casinos still had one deck shoes and you learn to count cards. I have a few friends who are still professional players in Vegas, playing 500 hands an hour of video poker in high roller rooms at best odds casinos, one gal has had two losing years in 25years and it wasn't much. Most of them have made out big by those cards you put into the machines then buy whatever to sell on ebay. I never played much live poker cause I know I be the sucker at the table, LOL. Most can read me like a book.

I flew back and forth for six months and became like work, was profitable, rooms food shows free, just gets old. I still love going to Vegas but never play games as I play a better game at home Monday thru Friday. But I love the shows and eating foods don't get back home for couple days. It is more of getting away and seeing friends. By far the Entertainment is the best and located there eventually. But playing video poker for a living, you have to be a Sadist, cause you losing so many hands, but royal flush plays 4800 to one, and what all seek, a good year you nail that five times a year.

most started out as BJ card counters, or poker players

i was addicted to the action initially, till i discovered BJ, and
focused on that [i did go broke one time though :wtf:]

My problem with Vegas is it is the least efficient market in the world. 10% house spread is criminal. Protected oligopoly
