Does the PDT rule still exist?

  1. I remember in September 2001 when that rule was passed, disallowing daytrading in accounts with less than $25,000. Is this rule still in effect?

Are there any plans to scrap the rule, or is it going to be there for a long long time?

  2. It stills exists... and it still sucks

  3. Hell, yes. It's interesting that the option industry likes it very dearly.

  4. anyone associated with enacting the PDT rule should be kicked out of the country and have their USA citizenship revoked.

  7. Scrap the rule? If anything they would probably up it to 50K...

  8. dont

    dont

Whats the big issue why this rule?

I remember the first time I tried IB I put 10K in my account.

And just to see how the statements etc worked I bought some MSFT and then immediately sold them. I get a message that I am a PDT so your account has be locked (or something can't remember)
