I find Japanese overall incredibly sensible people. Sure, each culture exhibits peculiarities (such as salarymen who do all sorts of weird stuff when they blow off steam). But overall Japanese are in my experience the kindest, friendliest, though not always the most forgiving bunch I came across. How some cultures still get incensed each time a nationalist Japanese farts escapes me.
I had a Japanese girlfriend for a bit in New Zealand. This was back in 2001/2. She was full Japanese but as her grandfather converted to Catholicism just after the surrender of Japan.. Well she had a lot of society against her growing up, institutional and endemic bullying. She was excluded, taunted and bullied all her childhood. She was very smart, mid to high level gifted and a heavy drinker by 13. Her teacher once found her flask was mostly vodka and handed it back to her saying it mattered little what happened to her kind. And that was a good day relatively speaking. Her theory though I'm sure she has updated it was this. Japan has a lot of autistic spectrum disorder, she related that it may have been introduced by statistical fluke if the small founding population in the first Japanese settlers that came from Korea were ASD gene heavy. Long story short, Japan had a capacity of insensitivity to emotional suffering that stands out and though while still only a small percentage of population are spectrum, the ruling classes are notably marked by it and they lead on cultural norms. I have had just a few nights out in Japan, Lost in Translation crazyness. I found them very nice however having lived in Northern Thailand for much of a year in my 20s (Thais really find Japanese peculiar/interesting) I can see how the Koreans may react to a culture that they implicitly understand but find too different to embrace. And of course the Hatfields and McCoys history they have.
yes. And I'm well traveled, so nice snarky retort. One only need to cruise the red light district of Kabukicho to know what Japan thinks of other Asians.
That was not aimed at you at all. Though I don't get your last comments. Virtually everyone employed in the sex trade in kabukicho is Japanese other than the black bouncers. So, you may have not meant it that way but truly Japanese men adore their women and show very little interest in the ladies of other cultures, at least normally. Dudes on shoestring budgets might have to venture further South to get what they are looking for.
It is. Brazil, Belorussia and Tadjikistan on one side the "let's take the hit like a man to save the economy, nothing to see here" and the rest of the world quarantining. There is a 3rd side where only the elderly and the weak is quarantined. My guess is that eventually most countries will switch to that model...
1. We could just talk about the fucking weather, but that would be boring. 2. I mentioned here HCQ 3 weeks ago when Trump hasn't even heard about it. Now they are distributing it like candy. 3. It doesn't matter if your country has the smartest and wisest (questionable anyway) if the political leaders fuck up and over ride their opinion. 4. I also mentioned other supplements and mechanism what you are going to hear about 2-3 weeks from now. So yes, and internet researcher with an open mind can be smarter than a scientist tied by political affiliation. (5). The US government's first line defense was for more than a month Kushner's googling ability. I say I google better than him. Was there anything interesting you wanted to say?
I find that Koreans actually like Japanese people, especially the younger generation. It's the politicians like Abe whom they dislike. There are victims from that era who are still alive and do not want history rewritten as if nothing happened. Most of their history textbooks don't exactly teach the war horrors their grandfathers caused. Releasing nuclear waste to oceans right next door, doesn't help either. There are so many goods being traded from Japan to Korea (Japan is the net exporter between them) and having food imported from Japan that's riddled with radiation... yeah, as you know these guys purposely built olympic dorms with woods from radiation heavy area in order to advertise how "safe" it is, and I'm sure you heard about Japanese celebrities who ate veggies from Fukushima to promote safety of their products, whom ended up with leukemia or whatever. Even with this Covid-19 issue, Japan didn't even check for infections, because they were afraid of olympics being canceled. Their censorship rivals that of China. I also remember reading about how (Nissan CEO I believe was jailed on false basis for months?) they manipulate their own system to keep foreigners from having too much power over their companies. The history also goes too far back with Japan usually being the aggressor between Korea. List goes on and on. I too personally like Japanese people. The ones I know are so much more well mannered, polite, and nice than most. It's some of the things their government does that makes me think it's understandable for Koreans to complain.
Food containing radioactive trace elements imported from Japan into Korea? They should have done that on a grand scale. Kidding. Can you send a link to this pls?
Bullshit. Nowhere does it state that Japan in fact exported radioactive food. Even at the worst time was radiation in Tokyo lower than radiation in Hong Kong (natural radiation). Never heard of radioactive food ever exported from Japan nor consumed by Japanese. Play fair and be honest even if you hate Japan that much.
