Does science make belief in God obsolete?

  1. Turok

    Turok

    Bernie:
    >Don't be jealous Turok.
    >I respect you too.

If you respect me because I'm a "senior member", my previous statement regarding the Ztroll applies here as well.

    >Who is honored? He who honors others.

And I agree, if the honor is earned. Honor given without valid reason it no honor at all.

  3. I still would be afraid to travel with you if I had a treasure chest. I might not wake up the next day.

You said it yourself. You proceed on the basis of selfish motives, and you are only law abiding because you are afraid you may get caught and face unpleasant consequences for breaking the law.

But if you could get away with a crime which in your book has no meaning anyway since you have no morals then you would do so.

Actually, I am not altruistic at all Gringinho because I have come to the realization that doing good deeds benefits me more than the person or organization that I am helping out.

  4. I liked some of the things that he wrote, and I told him so.

Hence, in my book he earned his honor.

You praised my post, and encouraged me in the face of criticism so it is proper that I respect you for that.

I was making a joke with Gringinho that he was going to censure me if I was going to go off topic into a political discussion since he is a senior member with over 18,000 posts, and he did in fact censure Gringinho in his debate with him for going off topic.

Why so severe today? Rough day?

  5. Bernard/Jesus/ZZZzzzzzzz - I do find it quaint that there are at least two users registered here that have "the same kind of humor", and are both (Berard&Jesus) totally committed to writing in the same off-topic subforum on a (semi-)professional forum about trading. Then the three of you write posts in the same timezone - very later after hours. Smells fishy.

ZZZzzzzzzz and Bernard use the same spacing in posts too. You also have the same illogical reasoning structures and errors ... These two users are one and the same person behind.

I have seen clones before here, and I'm sure it's not the last time.

  7. "Bernard"/"ZZZzzzzzzz" ... you say "do nothing" with the people who call themselves palestinians and are leaving in something that should not be called Palestine. Well, they have no right to vote in Israeali elections ... they are constantly attacked, and they also attack areas on the other side of the wall.

Should they not be granted democratic rights? Should they not be granted the opportunity to organize themselves, or at least be part of a nation?

  8. Correction to the above:
"living in something that should not be called Palestine"

    (it's 05:24 here)

  9. The Palestinian territories have been independent for years now. The PA and Hamas control them. Do you listen, watch, or read the news on this subject? If you want a crash course go to the Jerusalem Post site, www.jpost.com. There is action there virtually every day in text, pictures, and video.

The PA and Hamas are fighting each other for control. Hamas controls Gaza, and the PA the West Bank.

Hamas is constantly shelling Israel with rockets supplied by Iran so Israel is trying to take out these rocket crews, but they purposefully place these launch pads close to civilian areas so that Israel will get the blame if there is collateral damage.

Islam is a religion of death. In other words, life on Earth is meaningless for a fundamental Muslim (Hamas is made up of extreme fundamentalists). What matters is the afterlife so they have no problem sacrificing their civilians to destroy the enemy i.e., Israel.

That is why I stated that there is a high probability of a nuclear holocaust when Iran becomes nuclear.

They are not the Soviet Union. The possibility of mutual destruction worked for the US and USSR in avoiding a nuclear holocaust.

It is not going to work here because the Islamists in Iran with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in the lead believe that by starting a nuclear war with Israel the Mahdi (the Muslim Messiah) will come. All the infidels will be destroyed starting with the infidels in Israel, and the Mahdi will take care of the rest of the infidels in the world. It matters little to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and company that they will also be destroyed in this exercise because their goal is to obtain their rewards for this act in the afterlife.

  10. Ok, "Bernard".
I guess I should not expect an "open mind" from you on this matter. Hehe - just wanted you to show your opinions and fly your colors, and I am not really interested in debating it with you, since it's mostly pointless. I can't argue with the old testament or tora.
    :p

    Good luck to you.
