  2. This world makes a mockery of God. But since it doesn't exist, God will not be mocked.

  3. Quote from smilingsynic:

If God is sovereign, all-powerful, and all-knowing (past, present, and future), prayer is meaningless, because a sovereign and omniscient God already has an eternal plan. Prayer would mess that up.

smilingsync again draws out stupidity from his trove of ignorance. Try this:

    A) Prayer = communication with God (sovereign). Sovereign = royalty (kings, queens, emporers, etc.)

    B) Very few human sovereigns considered "good" did away with communication. They often addressed the people, listened to their concerns, administered justice, oversaw the daily life, fought their enemies, etc..

So, how does your moronic statement fit here? ....NOT

If God is not sovereign, all-powerful, and all-knowing, then prayer is meaningless. Might as well talk to the wall.

True. But that has about the same effect as listening to your continuing mass ignorance.

Prayer changes things? The only thing it changes is the ego of the self-important person who prays. It increases.

You have the intelligence of a basketball

Scientifically speaking, prayer is also meaningless. Those who pray, please name me one amputee who was healed because of prayer, or one certainly dead person who was brought back from the dead.

Well, your brain was amputated, so I guess there is not much hope for you...

And I can name one feckless, smilingsync who couldn't think his way out of a box of kleenex...

    Ep:
    >Non-sequitor - take a class in logic

LOL -- how about you take a class in spelling.

    >Ha - It is one thing to be agnostic, though it is
    >quite another to go out and mock God.

Wow -- that's good. You're right, those are clearly two different things. Did you figure that out on your own or was that the level you're at in your own logic classes?

I'll stop mocking your A@s$o%6 god when he stops acting like and As&8*le. It's the most basic of logic after all.

    >I'm sure your arrogance carries over to your
    >trading - which is the unforgivable sin for a trader

My Intel processor knows no arrogance.

  5. there has never been a verified case of a prayer changing an outcome.

maybe you could post your best example of an answered prayer for us to discuss.

  6. Two questions:

    1. How do you KNOW God is a "He"?
    2. How do you KNOW God answers prayers?

  7. Say so in the bible apperently........of course, god is also, depending on culture, ravens, snakes, mermaids, 8 armed hook beaked deities, trunk nosed behemoths or half man/monkeys, among other things.

Man-bear -pig and al gore could get there eventually, but it seems to depend on the number of followers.

But if the virgin mary/vishnu/alah/man bear pig/al gore appears on a piece of toast, i will let you know...of course, parting with such a miracle would be difficult. But if the price is right..........

"There has never been a verified case of tobacco causing cancer".

Hey I do not care if you believe in prayer or not - but that was one of the weakest arguments you have made on ET. (which is a sort of a backhanded compliment.)

  9. most answered prayer goes like this. child gets sick. parents take child to hospital. doctors do everything possible to save child. it takes a little time so parents get a preacher to pray for the child. child recovers and the simple minded christian parents attribute it to god answering their prayer and totally dismiss what the doctors did.

Has anyone tested prayer depending on the god the prayrers go to?

There are lots to choose from:

    1) Thor
    2) Allah
    3) Shiva
    4) The Jewish one
    5) Zeus
    6) Wankan Tanka
    7) The old white guy with the beard

Perhaps some work better than others?

Perhaps you have to time it right...when they aren't sleeping or having dinner
