there has never been a verified case of a prayer changing an outcome. maybe you could post your best example of an answered prayer for us to discuss.
Say so in the bible apperently........of course, god is also, depending on culture, ravens, snakes, mermaids, 8 armed hook beaked deities, trunk nosed behemoths or half man/monkeys, among other things. Man-bear -pig and al gore could get there eventually, but it seems to depend on the number of followers. But if the virgin mary/vishnu/alah/man bear pig/al gore appears on a piece of toast, i will let you know...of course, parting with such a miracle would be difficult. most answered prayer goes like this. child gets sick. parents take child to hospital. doctors do everything possible to save child. it takes a little time so parents get a preacher to pray for the child. child recovers and the simple minded christian parents attribute it to god answering their prayer and totally dismiss what the doctors did.
