Does Probability exist?

  1. So you think your behaviour modelling/approach/signals as you showed can accurately predict the price movement? Every day? If yes, then I would have to change my perception completely. Thanks for your amazing example.

    How Practical Is Behavioral Finance?
We can ask ourselves if these studies will help investors beat the market. After all, rational shortcomings ought to provide plenty of profitable opportunities for wise investors. In practice, however, few if any value investors are deploying behavioral principles to sort out which cheap stocks actually offer returns that can be taken to the bank. The impact of behavioral finance research still remains greater in academia than in practical money management.

While it points to numerous rational shortcomings, the field offers little in the way of solutions that make money from market manias. Robert Shiller, author of "Irrational Exuberance" (2000), showed that in the late 1990s, the market was in the thick of a bubble. But he couldn't say when it would pop. Similarly, today's behaviorists can't tell us when the market has hit bottom. They can, however, describe what it might look like.

    LOL

    How 'bout it non-believers?
Is that just luck or do you think he put in YEARS of work, and trial and error to figure out that trade?

  4. If it works, why not? Otherwise, how often? There are so many markets, futures, commodities, stocks, etc. Why stop to apply your precision model to find profitable opportunities?

Brother Odd, you think whatever system he is using, indicates a trade everyday and at the time of day that he might feel comfortable executing a trade?

    I don't know.

    You don't know.

And he nor anyone else is going to tell you many particulars about how he is trading and making decisions.
For one thing, it's nobody's business, but his.

And, if someone says they will, then try their method and see if you can make it work.

Maybe he made all the money he wants to make today; or yesterday and today; or Mo, Tu, and We, for example.

Lots of variables involved with risk.

Now, I've told you more than I should have.

    Keep working.
    Think for yourself.

  7. Furthermore, behaviour by itself means inaccurate/imprecise! lol

And whoever claimed that an auction market is accurate and precise?

  9. Exactly! The actual/exact method (s)he use for producing the trading signals might be something completely unknown to us.

I myself use a behaviour (conceptual) modelling methodology called System Dynamics http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/System_dynamics
, as mentioned before on ET, that's why I know! lol

  10. Do you really still believe? Are you another DB alias and we will soon see a scribble avatar next to your name?

DB backs down to every challenge, the words are carefully crafted to decieve, and there is zero evidence of any success whatsoever --- yet you vigerously provide a defense--- hmmmmm
