That's right. Someone doesnt agree with you and the delusions so they are a bitter person. Any opposition to the bible is heresey, but cultists will never admit to being a cultist. Cultist Christians believe they have a relationship with the living Christ but somehow the cultist have many questions unanswered so they cover with excuses and "maybe's". Every generation of Christians has promises and beliefs but through the ages they get peeled back like layers of an onion to reveal the fiction. 2000 years ago they were preaching of Christs imminent return and believed that and they are still preaching & believing that. You guys will have an excuse for that too.
The earth is flat! Galileo had alienated one of his biggest and most powerful supporters, the Pope, and was called to Rome to defend his writings.... Galileo was found "vehemently suspect of heresy" (though he was never formally charged with heresy, relieving him of facing corporal punishment), namely of having held the opinions that the Sun lies motionless at the centre of the universe, that the Earth is not at its centre and moves, and that one may hold and defend an opinion as probable after it has been declared contrary to Holy Scripture. He was required to "abjure, curse and detest" those opinions. He was sentenced to formal imprisonment at the pleasure of the Inquisition. On the following day, this was commuted to house arrest, under which he remained for the rest of his life. His offending Dialogue was banned; and in an action not announced at the trial, publication of any of his works was forbidden, including any he might write in the future. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galileo_Galilei
All humans are fallible, the exception is cultists, they are rock solid correct in all their beliefs.
@themickey , I'm curious: as to your thoughts on fulfilled Biblical Prophecies (ex. Israel scattering, then becoming a nation). as to the lack of comparable fulfilled prophecies of the scriptures of 'other' 'beliefs.' as to the one main, (or few main reasons) you stopped believing.
When you are brought up as a child, you believe what you're taught by your elders. When you grow up it becomes time to think for yourself. There's a huge amount of bs in this world, whether it be politics, religion, finance, medical, Holywood.... What I came to understand later, that leaders aren't necessarily good at their job, they just know how to manipulate, control, talk a convincing (bs) story, most often charismatic, good looking and inherited traits from their parents, social standing etc. If you look deeply, church ministers are just salemen with a knack of telling entertaining stories and sheep are led down the path. Unfortunately humans have a failing, we respect our leaders, doctors, lawyers, bankers, Hollywood stars, ministers, politicians...... This opens up a chink for them to exploit.
When one sets up a lot of strict rules that one must follow in life, human nature such as it is fights these constraints, subtly, psychologically. Hence one reason so many paedophiles in the ministry imo. The more restrictions the more one wishes to break out.
Actually a imminent return of Christ is not what is taught in the bible. Just the opposite is taught. P.S. someone doesn't agree with you and you label them a cultist. It does appear you have an axe to grind IMO anyway. I don't think you are the least interested in whether prayer to Jesus will help in trading or not but you are really interested in argueing about God and his son Jesus and you are using the the topic of prayer as a means to rail against God, the Church, The Bible, and Jesus in particular. Something likely happened to you I suspect that turned you against God, Jesus, the Bible and christianity in general.
FALSE James 5.8 You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. Rev 1.3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near. Rev 22.10 And he said to me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near. Luke 12.40 You also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” Phil 3.20 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, Titus 2.13 waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 1 Thess 5.6 So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober. 1 Cor 15.50 I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51 Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an …
