Looking at the charts helps my trading. And when you are ready for the "kill", total concentration/silence is in order.

Looking at my charts helps my trading as well.

Total concentration and silence may not be the same thing for many people. Take into consideration environment of where a trader is trading. I cannot get total silence where I trade. I have been listen to trance(ie tiesto/oakenfold) or classical music to help me stay focused or to zone in when I find my mind wondering.

I agree that music with words can be distracting while trading.

  5. Probably no, it will only distract your thinking.

  6. Shouldn't you be listening to "Money" instead?

I like background music with no lyrics to relax...Try Brian Eno's "Music for Airports", some Hammock, Jeff Pearce,or even some decent classical music (Mozart, Strauss, etc)

Did you know that Whitney Houston's debut LP, called simply Whitney Houston had 4 number one singles on it?
It's hard to choose a favorite among so many great tracks, but "The Greatest Love of All" is one of the best, most powerful songs ever written about self-preservation, dignity. Its universal message crosses all boundaries and instills one with the hope that it's not too late to better ourselves, Since, T-Bone Trader , it's impossible in this world we live in to empathize with others, we can always empathize with ourselves. It's an important message, crucial really. And it's beautifully stated on the album.:(
