Does Israel have the firepower to wipe Iran off the map?

Does Israel have the firepower ...

    How about this ...

    1) We either buy on the black market, or make a dozen copies of those mrbm's that Iran has in its arsenal.
    2) Sneak them into Iran from Iraq
    3) Announce a pull-out of Iraq
    4) Three months later, covertly launch those mrbm's hidden in Iran at targets in Israel.
    5) Israeli radar picks up the incoming missles and immediately retalliates.

Retalliation targets take care of the Iranian problem, fall-out takes care of the Iraqi problem and Israel gets to return a couple of favors.

For appearances, we take Israel before the UN: "Now Isreal ... dammittt ... you know that wasn't nice!!! Shame ... shame ... shame !!! As punishment - no pickled herring for a month!!"

  2. Fred,
In such a case, I know you probably would plan to be in Iran at the time to take live photos of the nuking for your anti-Israel campaign.

not really - a glass desert and a 300 year no-go area would do that job for me thanks.

have the israelis thought about how the impact of a nuke strike on iran would affect them?

maybe all that radiation and stuff could well blow over to your neck of the woods.

I take no anti-Israeli stance, but rather a pro-US stance. Over the years, the EXTENT of our support of Israel has been more indicative of politically powerful, small-group interests rather than our national interests. And that support has played no small part in fomenting and fueling the Islamic hatred that has resulted in countless hijackjings, the USS Cole, the Marine barricks bombing, 9/11 and our military involvement today.

  5. To g222: I beg to differ. US knows what they're doing--maybe Fred doesn't like US policies, but the US is definitely not stupid.
They've got a wide variety of interests and maneuverings throughout the world for military, economic and political reasons, and choose where to invest/ focus. If it's not the medicine, it's an illness or disease.

To Fred: I thought the microwave exposure would give you some immunity to the nukes. :)

I do agree and respect that we do have differences; however, on the above, we do indeed agree.

When you say: "US knows what they're doing...", the implication is : "The US Govt knows..." . The decision making arm of the US Govt consists of ELECTED individuals who have recognized and responded to the moneyed, political clout of certain small-interest groups that have backed and influenced the EXTENT of our support of Israel for decades.

  7. Too bad none of the above had anything to do with israel and was caused by our presence in Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and other muslim "holy sites". Osama Bin Laden made it abundantly clear.

And BTW are you suggesting that we should stop supporting Israel not because you think it's a right thing to do but because arab terrorists demand it from us and retaliate if we don't. Do you think it's a right way to conduct foreign policy and let the entire world know that if a group of people want something from us all they have to do is hijack a couple of planes and we'll be immediately happy to oblige them (with our tail between our legs).

You take the privilege of broad literery license in your interpretation of my statements.

    A) I have constitantly addressed the EXTENT of our support of
Israel - not the fact of our support. Had we a moneyed group
with similar political clout of Sudanese heritage, I dare say that
our presence there today would have indeed been more
    meaningful.
    B) If I made you believe that we should submit to the terrorists,
then I chose the wrong words. My belief is that the incidents
mentioned, together with our 'general' middle east problems
today, are due in no small part to the EXTENT of our support
    of Israel.

On page 13 of this forum I outlined the conditions under which I would fully support and endorse our govt's support of Israel. And to clarify, the absence of my 100% support at this time has nothing at all to do with terrorist threats.

  9. You're right, I did not read your previous posts on this issue so I guess I took your last post out of context and I sincerely apologize.

    us policies & stupidity......

like ignoring the warnings about 9-11?

like ignoring the advise about levies in new orleans pre katrina?

like invading a country to steal its oil based on lies, hoping no one would find out?

like using capital punishment as a deterrent, then criticising other countries on human rights issues (did i mention gitmo???)

like turning the whole world against you out of corporate greed?

like putting martha stewart in the apprentice to inspire people that lying, insider dealing and selling cheap tacky homewares are ok?

    like producing michael jackson?

    ( :D)

    etc

    etc

    etc.....

im not sure if americans are stupid. id like to think they are not, but they sure did vote a jackass from dumbville into power.

no, i dont like us policies. its not just me either. i wish you could have asked the 60,000+ people who died today of needless causes - mostly poverty, throughout the world. i dont think they would be too hot on us policies either. (sure - i understand that the issue is not 100% americas fault, but america - as the wealthiest nation on earth sure do have a big role to play, and currently, they dont seem to give a damn.)

ps - for the record, tony blair here in the uk is just as bad - may be more of a moron in fact.
