Does Israel have the firepower to wipe Iran off the map?

  1. If it were legal to transfer ownership of land following a war, dont you think that the boyz in Washington would be selling prime lots of Euphrates riverfront property to the highest bidder? Of course its not legal or ethical even. The realization that countries did not need to field huge standing armies to protect the homestead from bands of marauding thieves is what ended the dark ages and led to the general upliftment of the entire planet. The inhabitants of the middle east need to grow up and start behaving the same way they demand every else should behave.

Well, if a country(s) kept using land they owned to attack you, and you managed to get control of that land in a war you did not start, would YOU give it back?

  4. Fred,
I can feed you all the best food, but if you've got digestion problems, you will spit it all back up in a grotesque form.

If you want to find fault with the state of Israel, you can, and for that matter I can to. If you want to understand where they are coming from, you quite obviously can--but you don't want to.

arnie - looks like israel has a big job on its hands as it takes over the whole of the middle east then!!

ot - i think i have a pretty good idea where israel is coming from. i just dont agree with them. sure the past has been terrible towards jews, but many other religions have had their hardships too. they dont see this as an excuse to cause trouble all the time, or to take the attitude of 'were gunna do what the hell we like and sod everyone else.' when ever i see some israeli leader or rabbi on the news, they always seem so full of aggression. the same can be said for the israelis i have met in person. im not saying they are all like this, but after meeting quite a few, it does seem beyond probability that the attitude isnt the minority.

the usual line of defence of the israelis is that 'they started it'. this gets no one anywhere. considering how many 'high achievers' that the jewish faith has produced (as doodoo likes to remind us all of at least twice a week), i am surprised they havent managed to find a solution yet! perhaps they have. perhaps they are just happier in a state of constant war and misery in order to remind themselves of just how great they are. im sure israelis feel like Gods chosen people when they decide to tear down another palestinian neighbourhood in retaliation for the last suicide bomber who blew himself up in retaliation for the previously demolished neighbourhood. will this tit 4 tat mentality ever end?

im by no means saying that the palestinians are perfect at all, but when you have as little as they have, how can you honestly expect them to lie down to the israelis? can you honestly put your hand on your heart and say this is the way God wanted his 'promised land' to turn out? do you think he is pleased with the israelis actions? did he teach the jews to treat his brother as an animal in a walled cage, or to love and respect? God created the palestinians as well as the israeli jews. we are all of his creation. is this the way you treat His creations? oh, im sorry, he created the jews as more superior to everyone else (including his own son) didnt he! doh!

  6. Response to Fred,

Thank you for your last posting, as it was an improvement; I will therefore be more forthcoming to relating to your concerns:

    1. About aggressiveness: All army folks from all countries tend to be more aggressive. Your observation is that a high % of Israeli's have been in the army; your assessment is correct.

    2. Every nation has their share of fault/ iniquity. In being the Chosen People (i.e. chosen for responsibility), God has put the Jews through bitter exiles that no other nation on planet earth were put through or could bear, all for the purpose of: a) cleansing iniquity and b) seeing if they can steadfastly keep to the faith [else to find their way back to God] admidst persecution, suffering, life or religion threats, times of poverty & times of affluence, at the expense of their worldly connections, at risk of their their lives, children being raised with tragedy in the family, etc. --if they could that is the best sanctification of God's name possible, namely that there are no conditions separations between the Jewish nation and God.

    3. Unfortunately, your main exposure is to secular Israel/ Israelis (i.e. those who have gotten scathed in the exile) and then you have questions if that's called doing the job of the Chosen People (which means chosen for responsibility) and how they merited the Divine assistance to be saved from the attacking nations in the wars against Israel.
...My main exposure, however, is to practicing Jews, who either: a) have been steadfastly "practicing" the teachings of the Torah from the time the Torah was given at Mount Sinai till today, generation after generation, [in the face of everything I mentioned in #2] ; b) or who gotten scathed in the exile but then have found their way back to God. When I see their high level of performance, I don't have the questions you have (Here are some examples: lowest crime rate in the world, lowest juvenile delinquency rate in the world, lowest divorce rate, etc.).

My schedule is tight. If you plan a response, please review carefully and reflect on what I wrote first.

  7. no i wouldn't. but then again, that is how a thief justifies it to himself.
according to your logic, you have no right to go and breach freedom to other countries like say sudan with darfour, indonesia with e. tymour, china with tibet and mongolia and others.
israel is in violation of 65 u.n resolutions. according to the international community, israel's occupation to the westbank and gaza is ILLEGAL.
your state used the logic of defending the kurdish rights to be free to justify cheney's war against iraq.
i am not expecting you to not be a hypocrite, i am expecting you to hide it better.

  8. If the UN hates Israel as a secular state, I coudn't care. If they hate Israel because of the Jewish occupants, I'm sure their somehow hoping for diplomatic immunity from the day of final reckoning.

BTW, some of you guys would make good candidates as UN members.

    lol - c'mon - pleeeeeaaaase!

no ones schedule can be that tight if they have time to waste debating in chit-chat stuff they have a knatts chuf in hells chance of changing.

i think the 65 un violations, countless human rights abuses, developing nukes under the table (aka iran style) etc etc etc etc count for a lot more in the worlds hearts and minds than some religious text whos followers only chose to follow it when it suits them (we're going back to the Jesus thing again....)
