I have a question in my mind. How do investment banks manage their clients money? Those BB banks often claim that they have hundreds of billions of dolloars, but can they use the money as freely as the commercial banks do? Or they must follow strict rules?

I also wonder why those "pure" investment banks, such as Goldman Sachs still dominate the investment banking business. With the loosing regulation, the firms backed by the commerical bank parents should get more business because the parents can offer the clients cheap loans. Especially in merger and acquisition, those firms with commerical bank background should have a bigger share.

    Any insights?
