I am planning to open a new trading account. I am looking for brokers that allow stop and market orders for QM. Can IB's simulated stop orders be triggered overnight or just the open outcry hours? Also, can anybody using IB to trade QM tell me how the quality of the stop and market orders? Is it reliable? Is the filled far from the market price? Thanks in advance.
IB is great for trading QM. You have many order types (Market, limit, stop, stop/limit, trail stop and probably more) Fills are excellent. HOWEVER: Stop orders cannot trigger overnight, only during day session. (Limit orders do trigger). This is true for some of the exchanges. I think it's an exchange issue, but I'm not sure.
