Does everyone have CNBC turned on while trading ?

  1. Used to 10 years ago...
    But now only at 8:30 to hear Rick Santelli in the Chicago bond pit...
    Or if ** MAJOR ** story day.

    98% of CNBC content is completely useless...
    Just the Sell Side trying to take more of your money.
    yawn x 1,000,000 times

    I recommend surfing YouTube for relaxation.

  2. I like to watch Erin on CNBC, she's a cutey. Fox is good for breaking news, not a quick as Bloomberg obviously, but not $1700 a month either. Mainly just when Bush is speaking, a possible terrorist act, or to hear Bernake. I never trade off the news I just like to be aware of it as I can shake me out of positions sometimes.

  3. ==============

    Unifly;
    Like Art Cashin [Cashin In], director of floor operations who comes on usually about 1;40-2;00 Chicago time

    Like his old time discretion, usually sticks with you;
    like his bumble bee rally , which isnt scientifically supposed to fly,Unifly it does fly up anyway.

    The reason dont watch more than average 60 minutes of CNBC;
    like the old market maker said, you will probably get the news before i do, MM has other things to watch

    :cool:

  4. Not a chance.

    TV - it is an entertainment medium. Yes, there wil be some news, but mostly entertainment.

    The best woman analyst I know is not on CNBC. Wanna know why?

    Butt Ugly.

    The Money Honey is far more appealing.

    While trading some classical music or some light Jazz, thankyou very much.

    News feeds are available for the standard stuff. I trade forex only, and I have a calendar to let me know when news comes up.

  5. LOL.....CNB WHAT? who watchs that crap? If there is one thing I took away from trading the LATE GREAT BULL market, is that CNBC is a joke.

    My old Mentor took a loss because "CNBC" had reported news wrong. If you get a chance, ask Mr. RMETAL about CNBC.

    We all got screwed when we MR ANGEL (EX FED) comes on and CNBC lets him "SAY A FEW WORDS", market turned around to squeez me out...only to fall back lower on Monday.

    I do have a question...I have yet to watch CNBC in 3 years.....does BOB P. still call the market moves due to VOLUME?

    oh yea, KRAMER....are you kidding me. Watch PORN, it will save ur trading.

  6. Why join the 'mindless masses'? I agree that at least 98% of the information is worthless.

    I have always felt that trading the news is a recipe for disaster!

    Good trading

  8. They are for Contrarian trading.

    "GM's going to 30" automatic short

    "POZN took a heavy loss" buy long for the quick bounce

    They usually give stocks the kiss of death. I do like early morning coverage on the Internatioinal markets 5:00-700 AM EST.

  9. Liz Klaman. 'nuff said.

    ***

    Once met with the assistant treasurer of one of the largest transportation companies in the world. A former bond trader, in fact.

    On his desk: Bloomy and CNBC.

    FWIW

    how tired CNBC is. How many times are you going to hear the same stories, like now is a great time to buy. And god forbid there is news because they will keep talking about it and sensationaling the same story over and over. Than they say really stupid things like the reason gold is rallying is because a lot of ppl are getting married in India this time of year. Like that is the reason gold is at 20+year highs, omg; or gold doesn't really matter etc. etc. The only entertaining stuff is kudlow now because even though he makes no sense he says it with such candor and wierd illogical parallels that its funny.

    Only thing worse is fox news, esp neal cavuto "isn't the real problem" something related to the democrats"...

    I suggest watching other shows. I stopped day trading because its so boring tbh. I would say watch anything but trading related stuff unless there is volume or news. (Although you would probably find it on yahoo or google first)
