You say that only a couple of the seminars were trash, but 99% of the books were worthless? I agree that there is scant little value to be had from how-to-trade vendors. But why would seminars be better than books on balance, as you are implying? Whatever kernels of value you may find, books tend to go into more detail, all else being equal. I've never taken a trading seminar, but I would imagine time constraints limit the amount of material that can be covered. So if you're looking for nuggets of value, you'll have less fodder to sift from at seminars, no? Not to mention that seminars are much more expensive.
Impressive, the intelligence on these forums is endless! You get out what you put in, if a mentor wants to sell you a service then how much do they make a year, $50k, that's the level of trading capability on offer. Like someone who generates 10%, 20% a month, has capital of $100,000s and above is ever going to show their statements. That's some funny weekend reading! So how much is a strategy worth that can generate 15%-20% a month, for the math inept that's 250%-400% per year. This should be even better.
Everything, but always find sarcasm to be much more beneficial than taking unintelligent comments seriously, which find funny as making money is about using intelligence more efficiently! As that one confused you senseless this one should work even better https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/investing-in-apple-stock-a-good-idea.302445/#post-4325287 - plus you didn't answer what a strategy generating 15%-20% per month is worth, so presume nothing which is never a good sign, anyone else!
I would seriously consider not using a mentor - There is a ton of free material out there such as 'Chat with Traders' where top notch traders reveal every thing you need to know - for free. Mentoring is being hyped by the many failed traders that prey on entry level traders - they promote a painless path to prosperity - don't believe it. Most mentors are probably like Mr. Haney -Green Acres. Some of these mentors are living in their mom's basement - for real!
ever wonder why all winning traders decide to go into the hedge fund or cta business rather than just keep trading their own capital? the answer will answer you
