The moon cannot move markets. A social media personality farting on camera has more effects on the market movement -- And a host of other variables and factors. Instead of thinking what moves markets, look at the overall picture...of the US market, and world, and main data points and people, emotions, ranges to develop a reasonable hypothesis.
If it can, do you realize the amount of effort it would take to figure out how and then design a profitable trading edge? Like the old saying goes "If wishing were horses, beggars would ride." Chasing down mystical gobbledegook is typical of retail trader fantasies.
Not trying to go down this rabbit hole, but simply wanted to say that: You can observe a pattern, and profit from it, without knowing why or how the pattern exists. Guess I'll say a little more. Things that tend to occur on a particular weekday, follow a 5 or 7 day cycle. Things that tend to occur on a particular day of the month, follow a 20 or 30 day or so cycle. The moon follows a 20 or 28 day cycle. (20 business days/28 calendar days--futures) Things that tend to occur during leap years follow a 4 year cycle. Things that tend to occur during the first year of a presidency follow a 4 or 8 year cycle. There are other cycles (1,2,3,4,8,9,12,21,28,50,100,200, year long cycles, etc.) that work at various times for varying time frames. If you say "28 day cycle," you're golden. If you say "moon cycle," you're a quack.
Show me the edge...over a significant time period including bull/bear/sideways markets. I'm more concerned about that then what you call it.
If you reread my post to you, you'll see that I said nothing about showing any edges. My post rebutted your assertion that you need to understand a pattern before profiting from it. That's it. This is clearly a true statement (my rebuttal). If you don't believe that patterns exist in the markets; and that they can be monetized without being understood, then we'll simply agree to disagree.
Again, show me the edge. If you couldn't do that in three paragraphs (and 7 paragraphs in your preceding comment), I assume there isn't one.
I never said I couldn't show you. I won't show you. I'm not interested in whether you believe me or not; please try to show the same lack of interest with me.
