Does anyone here use IB data to trade index futures using very short-term charts?

Kiwi that's nice chart. You mean you can utilize data from longer timeframe (HSI-200707-HKFE) in the tick chart ( HSIN7-FUT-HKFE )?

Do you collect that longer term data also from IB ?

By the way, this morning I check Sierrachart site for fees, it seems for trading HSI, level 3, USD17/month will do all the trick, is that true ?

  3. Yes, the longer timeframe data is data from IB that I refresh to ensure it includes all highs and lows (I won't need to do that once SC integrates the new "true data" 5 second bars that IB are just now delivering).

The shorter timeframe is live collected data so its IB's snapshot tick data. SC lets me put one as the background for the other.

Yes that level will give you all the basics that I use but the next level has more drawing and scaling capabilities.

  6. Just a quick follow-up question. Does anyone use IB's "snapshot" data to trade using tick charts? I have never followed the markets using tick charts and I imagine it would be something of a compromise to use "snapshot" data for such a time frame, but what do I know? And so, out of curiosity, I'm asking.
