Does anybody really trade on size any more?

  1. Well, that is the way we were taught to trade here. Well, not really taught since we never had real training. They just told us to grab a computer and trade 100 shares, told to see if there's a size stepping get in and if people start hitting it, don't be afraid to be the next to NX out. I have no clue how to trade any different way cuz everyone here uses the same methods I do.

  2. Ok first.. do some research and figure out what stocks you think are gonna go up and what stocks are gonna go down! (You will have to figure out on your own your research strategies) Obviously the market and futures play a role in this too. Then buy or sell off the open a 100 shares. And watch all day long. Try to figure out what the stock is doing by tape reading and chart watching. Remember with a 100 shares you cant get too burned so hold it for a full point against you and if it goes up a full point hold it. Basically this is training and you are not looking at your PnL. By doing this you will see things more than just size stepping in and out. You may see an offer of 10,000 with a bid of just 1000 but everytime they whack the bid it replenishes. Then all of a sudden a 200 share NX to the offer triggers off stops and the real buyer.

  4. Unfortunately we do. They're the reasons why we're in the positions we're in right now. Didn't the NASD went after those 2 clowns? The NASD came down one day and started grilling everyone here about those 2 clowns and i told them what i thought... that they should take away their license and make sure they never work on Wall Street again. Why you ask?

  5. So you are in a company called Manhattan Trading Group, right?
Do you just teach or allow you to scalp trade for a few cents? Do they allow or teach you how to do a intraday swing trade?

  7. Unfortunately they don't. Manhattan Trading Group LLC doesn't exist any more. Now its just Assent. I was never taught to swing trade or trade any other way except for just looking at size and waiting for it to step and get in. Unfortunately, that method doesn't work any more and you'd be screwed more times then not if you use that now since the specialist are making a habit of pulling the bids and dropping down 20 cents on you easily. How are you familar with Manhattan Trading Group anyway?

  8. I went to the company in Wall Street once in Feburary just for a visit. I did talk to those two guys, but I do not know how good their trading are. I am always skeptical about their methods because many programs can provide such size information.
