Does a disciplined trader smoke weed (?)

many people die from just one try of their first marijuanas. tragic indeed.

 

I’ve been a marijuana addict myself in my youth.
Being an addict to anything is no good.

If you can keep it for recreational usage it’s fine.

Smocking weed might be no holy grail therefore it has nothing to do with trading.
No one should be smocking weed while trading unless he’s an addict.

 

Weed enhances the volume of your ego making you less conscious. Self talk tends to become more positive than when sober but it is still not so great overall. Affirmation without discipline is the beginning of delusion.

Better than alcohol IMO which spikes your idgaf far too high and makes you feel physically like shit afterwards.

 

I don’t mind doing it once in a while. But doing anything in excess is harmful - whether it is smoking weed or trading.

 

As long as you are not overdoing it, then it’s fine. I have never done it. Trading requires full attention. And smoking too much weed can cloud your judgement.

 

Does a disciplined trader smoke weed? Depends on your definition of disciplined.
Does a profitable trader smoke weed? Well, just look at wallst. in the 80s.

It's a choice of yours. Personally smoking weed kills my will to do things, I become satisfied with just sitting on the couch all day, of course that's not the life I want so I quit smoking it.

 

I think, that people of all professions do smoke weeds, especially when it helps you.

As long as it 1)does not affect your ability to trade and make profit and 2) is legal in where you live, I don't see why not. Has nothing to do with discipline or not.

I do think that smoking weed during breaks is okay, if you want to calm down a little bit. Nevertheless, doing it during trading session isn't beneficial for your trading activity. You know, any kind of substance whether it's alcohol or weed will distort reality perception, hence it may negatively affects reading the charts and making analysis.
As for discipline, then if you drink a bit of alcohol for instance you will become more concentrated. Disciplined trader is someone who complies with risk and money management, soberly look at things including mistakes and so on and so forth.
