Freddie and Fannie dont have a direct gov. guarantee but they do have a "to big to fail"halo around their heads...... as it stands, they can only buy qualifying loans but you watch.....an RTC type entity is in the works for this stuff..... bottom line is the taxpayer is the backstop for this crap and if the prez candidates can fashion a bailout.....you get one guess as to what will happen
