Jem you do know that the original source of the money to fund the investigation into Trump's business in Moscow, i.e., the "Steele Dossier," was some fat cat Republican donor. It was only later when the Fat Cat lost interest, I suppose because it was clear that Trump was going to get the nomination anyway, that the DNC agreed to pick up the bill for the conclusion of the project. One can assume Fusion would have contacted the DNC in an attempt to sell the project and obtain support for its continuation. This would have been when the DNC first became aware of the existence of the previously Republican-donor funded project. In other words, the Steele investigation into Trump's affairs in Moscow was a joint funded project. I'm sure you also know that Steele is one of the most qualified and experienced investigators that might have been contracted for this investigation. You also know that when Steele discovered, through his investigation, how potentially dangerous to the U.S. Trump's connections to Russia were, i.e., Trump was putting himself in a position to be blackmailed by Russian interests, Steele expressed his concerns to Fusion, and they jointly agreed to inform the FBI. You also know, of course, that the U.S, intelligence community was informed by a Russian agent of Russian plans to interfere with the U.S. election with a massive attack at least by 2015, long before the Dossier had surfaced and long before even Obama knew anything about the planned attack. The U.S. Intelligence community did not inform Obama of any of this until far later. The Dossier, incorrect or correct as it may be, did not precipitate investigation into Russian interference into the 2016 election, or investigation into individuals associated with the Trump campaign that were known to have ties to Russia. That was underway already when the Dossier surfaced.

So if you know all this, and I assume you do, since it is common knowledge, why do you bother us with this bullshit recitation of innuendo?

There is a new book just out called "Russian Roulette", it is available on Amazon. I highly recommend it to you.

Actually the original Republican "fat cat" only funded basic opposition research with Fusion. The funding of anti-Trump research in Russia "the Steele Dossier" was solely funded by Democrats and occurred after Republicans were long gone.

I keep asking this, so what? What's so ominous about Democrats funding anti-Trump research that uncovered criminal activity, you right wingers had no problems when a Breitbart editor book led to Clinton Foundation being investigated but Trump is special somehow? Why do you cons are so oblivious to double standards?

And that, my friends, is what you call an "alternate theory of reality." Amazing. Pulled off masterfully.

Is there anything truthful in the Steele Dossier. There is a big difference between opposition research and a fabricated pack of lies.

Yes, the Carter Page assertions checked out, which part were proven lies on the other hand? Why would a veteran respected MI6 spy lie about it? Why would he go to the FBI to get it checked instead of leaking it to everyone instead? Why is Trump's own DOJ investigating all this for over a year if it was all lies?

Let's see: "Russian Roulette" by Michael Isikoff and David Corn. Michael Isikoff, who believed all the lies Christopher Steele told him and now seeks to profit further from it. David Corn? Please. I suppose the lefties don't have any Alinsky books to read?

It's been reported that some of the content of the Steele dossier has been confirmed correct by the FBI. But i don't know specifically which aspects. On the other hand there are, so far as I am aware, no parts that have been proven false. Steele has said that there are portions of the dossier that he considers not entirely reliable. He has said the chances of the veracity of these questionable portions is "50:50". It is compelling that Steele is British and should have no interest here other than truth. There seems to be no question about his abilities. He is highly regarded by the intelligence community as an expert on Russian intelligence.
