All that has been determined, is that if people want to avoid paying a sponsorship, first build a large following by trying to game the system. Then comes the paid service. It is not a matter of if, but when you will start offering it. You already worked some of that in your months' earlier posts to your websites. So sponsors, save your money. Follow the "Do you want BRANDONF to teach you" or "Learn from the Guru" model to build a large following. Pretend to be only interested in their benefit. THEN drop the paid model at a later time through some subtle means (like PM your emails and I will contact you offline). Apparently, it is legal.
hey brandon, thanks for the information. no question multi millions are possible with these businesses. i have made a few million over the years with a tiny, on man, part time publishing operation, not connected to the internet in anyway and not scalable, so I can only imagine the potential of a scalable web business. however, i am a little confused about the ethics of "recreating" sellers websites, real sellers, and hop linking, etc. . it all seems very shady business practices to me. i am looking forward to an explanation of these tactics so I can feel better about implementing an "experimental" web business in the near future. all the best, surf
That might very well be legal, but it would violate the TOS and in any case would be screwing Baron over. I respect and like Baron, and I love ET. My plan is very simple: Add value to ET to make it a better place. Again, I'm sorry that you have been screwed over so many times and suffered so many bitter disapointments in your life that you can not see simple good deeds with nothing expected in return when they are kicking you in the balls.
TradeZone: Could you give Brandon a break? I suggest that if Brandon has a job for you in building a business that he consider hiring you, and pays you if the business makes money. In that way, you benefit, he benefit, and others benefit. Just an idea. If you have time and can do some good work, I might hire you and pay you from the profits of variaus internet businesses I have in mind. I like to think (maybe too much) and do not act. Action in internet business is so important.
Thought to share this with you guys. The attached are earnings from a well known source of income for a set of little sites we own in NON-TRADING areas. The trading area produces very tiny dollars, and is demanding in time. The sites are working on their own. day and night. Set, and then forget, except for the check. I asked other for other monetization possibilities, but have not heard yet.
This guy is on the track i prefer ... i've been outsourcing web projects since 1999 and while RentACoder.com is a good place to do it my favorite spot is http://scriptlance.com although anyone can use google owned blogger.com software or wordpress software to make a webpage look and do anything you need or you can hire it done. I had revenues over a million last year and have yet to calculate taxable, but it was around 25% The road BrandonF is taking you down (affiliate marketing through Clickbank) is all above board and viable and just one of many many angles to make money online. Here's a few links that will keep you up many nights and you will spend tons of time on them if you grow to love the biz. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/ http://www.webmasterworld.com/ http://www.namepros.com/ http://dnjournal.com/ http://webhostingtalk.com http://warriorforum.com http://www.sitepoint.com/ http://marketplace.sitepoint.com/ this last link is to an online marketplace to buy / sell and just a week or 2 ago isaw a website go for $600,000 and they frequently sell for upwards of $100,000 It's common for revenue producing websites to sell for 1xs or 1.5 xs annual earnings and so there are good deals to be had ... but be careful as many sellers can temporarily infalte traffic levels until the sale is completed. I wouldn't even consider buying something that didn't have bids on it already unless you really know the biz. I only know marketing and there are too many loopholes for techs to pull the wool over my eyes for me to participate it the marketplace in actual buyin / selling of websites. And finally you will note the marketplace divides websites into premium, established and started classifications. I don't have time to answer tons of PMs and if you use the search function at these websites you can learn more by reading than any other way. Peace birdman
We will be starting our little drinking game this evening (late, I have football game's I'm watching right now). It will be located here: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=149703
Hi Brandonf, I currently have a profitable business non trading related but no web site. One of my competitors has a web site and is making more money than me. I was wondering if you could help on this?
