Do you use a Mac?

I’m getting the feeling that it’s more related to my hardware or manufacturer code. My interest in a Mac is hardware that works and ALL of the operating system and bios is from the hardware manufacturer. Is this wrong thinking?

Opinions differ, but IMO yes a bad idea, b/c means monopoly, dependance, non-freedom b/c no alternatives to chose from...
The OS is more important than the machine hardware.

Full control of your OS. Open source so almost no chance of shady things going on in the background, unlike with MS and Apple.
Apple has some nice hardware but they are price gouging and internally many components are of very poor design and quality. It doesn't matter, it's a status symbol for many.

With Windows, you get fully controlled (monitored) by MS; they record every link you click... :) Ie. total surveillance. And they make it also possible (via API) for other paying clients of them to watch all your web steps...
With Linux this all does not happen.
By getting freedom back I mean this.

Nope, English is not my native language, and I'm unfortunately not in the US (I am in fup'd Europe).
I hope to get rich soon to escape this nightmare called Europe... :)
Would like to live on a yacht in international waters... :)

I don't know why chromebooks are not more popular.
Google even finished manufacturing them which is a shame.

  7. I'm on a MAC. I run Ninja Trader via Windows 10 on a virtual machine with Parallels.

I've been trading this way for 4 years now and it works fine. If you are going to try this, I would recommend at least 16 gigs of RAM for your MAC. 32 gigs would be better as you will need to allocate at least 8 gigs to the virtual machine for Ninja to run properly.

I’ll probably buy a used Mac to begin with to see how I like it. How old can I go without it becoming obsolete soon?

And it just occurred to me that Macs don’t have the largest screen sizes. I’m gonna have to think about this a bit.

  10. I use a 2018 Mac Book Pro with 16 Gigs of RAM running two 27" Dell U2715H external displays at 2560x1440. This is really all I need but I'm looking at upgrading the computer.
