actually, but base on what I read from Amazon reviews this book basically never talks about "strategies", it is basically all about how to do the "testing".
Chuck Hughes is an 8 time winner and makes triple digit returns annually.....according to his website. Lucky for you, for a generous fee you can become part of his inner circle and trade along with him. Not sure why a guy who makes returns that would put him in the top 1% of 1% of traders wants to offer up advisory services but to each their own.
I believe it is $5500 but I am assuming if you asked he would just collect it after your first week of profits.
From what I've heard, both on forums and talking to people directly, following Chuck Hughes' advice/picks leads to terrible performance. I'm not sure how he's supposedly done well in so many World Cups.
Any Jackwagon can make a couple high risk, high reward fop bets and win something like this. Institutional investors care far more about alpha, beta, sharp ratio, max drawdown...than they do about absolute returns during an arbitrary short time period like this. I can't imagine you'd ever get a contract to manage any significant amount of money based on your performance in something like this.
The competition lasts for 1 year, I think. It's very hard to win it by making so many crazy bets. Plus isn't alpha all about beating the average?
Competitions are just that...competitions -- you have to make big, bold bets...to leap ahead of the pack I wouldn't say competitions are a good indicator though of real life, longer term performance.
