1. Left Brain:
Logical
Sequential
Rational
Analytical
Objective
Looks at parts

Right Brain:
Random
Intuitive
Holistic
Synthesizing
Subjective
Looks at wholes

2. The no-brainer is much to be preferred.

3. Right brain = play money.

Left brain account. Right brain account.

4. What kind of newbie uses their brain in making trades?

5. "It is a fact that our brain tends to go for superficial clues when it comes to risk and probability, these clues being largely determined by what emotions they elicit or the ease with which they come to mind. In addition to such problems with the perception of risk, it is also a scientific fact, and a shocking one, that both risk detection and risk avoidance are not mediated in the "thinking" part of the brain but largely in the emotional one (the "risk of feelings" theory). The consequences are not trivial: it means that rational thinking has little, very little, to with risk avoidance."
Nassim Taleb in "Fooled by Randomness" p. 38

6. "...rational thinking has little, very little, to with risk avoidance."

Do you suppose that would apply if it wasn't your money? Or the house's money? You might rationalize taking a bigger risk. Once risk adverse always risk adverse?

7. "risk detection and risk avoidance are not mediated in the "thinking" part of the brain but largely in the emotional one"

I could agree with that statement in children -- impulsivity. I find it difficult to agree that this does not change with age.

8. Left / Right brain is an obsolete model favoured by ageing new agers. If you want to address the question you'll need a more up to date model.

9. kiwi trader, so what's a more 'up to date model' ?

10. Hold on... let me use my right brain to answer that...

Hrmm... hold on... let me switch onto the left...

You guys get the point.... correct???

:D :D :D
