I agree completely. Two sessions with a solid lunch break. Asian exchanges have that, and it creates opportunities.
do you know what I wish the nyse/nasdaq instead of extending hours, would try to make quotes even more transparent. figure out ways to increase liquidity. Those are better ideas, rather then just lets steal volumne from europe.
well depends on what kind of trader you are. If you swing more often then daytrade, you would love the liquidity. Or if you take on larger positions. Like I said I wish nyse/nasdaq would just leave it be. Make there technology better. They should work on their liquidity, execution, and data management. I never understood why specialists were even needed. The reasoning is that they provide liquidity on the nyse when things are bad, or short some stock to provide when things are great. But in volatile situations they would mostly just sit it out.
It would be cool... 2 extra hours of making $$$. I like the idea of a break in between like what they have in the asian markets. It would create two extra periods ie) 5 minutes before/after break of fun actions.
no kidding. I think if they do the 2 hour earlier thing, theres just going tobe a longer lunch hour period. Or theres going tobe more extended dead periods.
