to "sad but true" I read as trdr_2000 talking. if i am incorrect you need to learn where to put your quote marks. "YOu are very defensive and lack self esteem. " from trdr_2000 your response shows that you are lacking in self control plus need to take a course in logic.
Ah ha - quite the opposite here. Everyone I meet thinks it is the best job in the world. They just can't understand how come I'm doing it.
Most people will think you'll fail and that you're an idiot for even trying. Most traders will fail. Most people don't like being thought of as a failure (or an idiot). Hence the defense mechanism. Hopefully that cleared up any "confusion". (And yes, most businesses fail too, but for some reason people are more willing to give you the benefit of the doubt if you tell them you're starting a business.)
If god has given you a gift and you can handle it, is the point. Its not to puff you up and give you a feeling of a secret supremecy. I personally am a normal guy with a norml car and home, living my life. I enjoy trading part time and have traded full time in the past. Peoples perception of what I do, has nothing to do with the smile on my face, but my delight comes with there not having a clue. I am thankful that the Lord has given me the liberty to trade, and I believe that one can be a Christian and trade. I am human and constantly am being tested and the fight with my flesh continues. I don't need approvel or to feel special or better than others. Everest thanks for clarifying and my smile and comment might have indicated a dead-end path to follow. Tell that to my mom. She thinks its gambling. Personally my defintion of gambling does not include trading (except maybe the one time I had 500 call contracts on a stock ) This is an occupation nothing more nothing less. ozzy

This is very true. However, I also believe in a path, a reason to why I am here. However, I also believe in that we make our own path to greatness. It is quite an anomaly, but trading and becoming great at trading has nothing to do with my path. I am creating my own path to become a trader, and the measure of greatness comes from the integrity I produce while creating my success.... That's just my two bit's
