What do you state your occupation is for official purposes e.g. applications for passport, insurance etc?

Might as well state, "Retired" or "Unemployed". Odds are, you soon will be. :D

For those traders making real money, why don't they rise a real company with just a smal portion from their profit? By then they have legal financial statements to prove their ability and they can name their titles yet business whatever they want ON their business card.

After reading all of this hilarious thread, I have decided to state on the form that I am a Fund Manager (well it sounds respectable). Admittedly, it's not as cool as "Critical Liquidity Provider" or "Third World Debt Trader".

As an aside, I was wondering what a stripper would put down on her forms - a friend of mine told me the correct title would be "Adult Entertainer". Absolutely marvellous.

    Dr. Laura: Caller you're next.

Caller: Dr. Laura, I have a problem. I am getting married to a real nice girl from a nice family. However, my mom is in drug rehab for the 3rd time, I never knew my father, Bubba is in the big house, my sister is a journalist for the NYTimes, and my other brother is a producer for CBS.

Dr. Laura: That's some family. So, what is your question?

Caller: Dr. Laura, how to I tell my fiancee that I'm a trader?

I always state my occupation as "self-employed." I rarely get asked to explain it.
