For trading and most regular use.

  2. At home 1280x1024 for my 17in monitor. At work i have 2 19's (Crappy CRT's) that are 1024/768 (i think thats the next one down not 100% sure).

Does that make me technically retarded for this poll?

  3. Wide aspect ratio is more natural to the eyes and brain.

You can always scroll down a window to get to the xtra 150
pixels. But its not easy to scroll vertically (atleast not with
    your mouse).

In future all screens will be wide aspect and all websites will
be built with this in mind.

Most icons on a 15" laptop with 1600 x 1200 are just too small.

Prefer 1400 x 1050 on 15" laptop, is capable of holding just enough without making it illegible.

    Next laptop will be 17" with 1680 x 1050.

  6. I have an iBook G4 and I have to use 800x600 otherwise I go blind.

But to be fair to AAPL my laptop never crashed once and is running 20 hours/day with no problem...

    ...very strong stuff.

Have two IBM A31 and have on both machines new screens after three years: wore them out by running them 24 hours x 7 x 52.

ES: Yes I have my eye on that Toshiba, seems that with the PC arm of IBM being sold to the Chinese the IBM PC's are no longer what they used to be. :( Used to have Toshiba and went to IBM because of their superior software service. But alas. So it will be back to Toshiba again (had 4 of them). Likely at the start of the new year. That one has no glossy screen to reflect all the overhead lightning. :)
