Hi guys, thought this might be an interesting topic! For those of you who have designed automated systems, do you name them? Care to share? I have one I named SulliScalper... hehe
Mv 30 year bond ZB system..............."Phalanx" My ES discretionary trade system......"DeltaShift" all the other systems I trade I do not really have specific names for them (market opening trades and news bracket trades).
I prefer more realistic names: MegaDrawdown UltraCurveFit and my personal favorite: BigMoneyLoser
C'mon SideShow those are all public systems! What's the name of your system(s)? 5P : How'd you come up with Phalanx? Sounds like something from Star Trek...haha
Yes I have to name them, so I can refer to them. They are selfexplanatory: BBW: Entry on Bollinger bands, exit with Williams indicator Wopi: using the Williams indicator for entering with the trend, when W %R hits opposite extreme SCS: same colored stick, entering with the trend, at a breakout. 50/20: breakout entry at the 50 level with a 20 stop I also name the different type of days: ADU: all day upper, a rally day. 50/20 works well on these days, also Wopi. SDD: step down day, selling off all day. Again, 50/20 works well also Wopi around 11 am and 1 pm. Sideways day: Market is going nowhere, that is what BBW was designed for.
Do you run them all, and let them enter/exit at will, or you do trade them based on your analysis, or based on a technical indicator. ALso just curious, what market(s) do you trade -- ES, NQ, ER2, etc.
Quote from SideShowBob: Do you run them all, and let them enter/exit at will, The best would be to run them parallel with different accounts. Since they can give opposite signals, it is sometimes hard to decide which one to follow. 50/20 could give a breakout long signal while BBW gives a short signal. or you do trade them based on your analysis, or based on a technical indicator. Well, I try to guess what kind of day it is going to be. After the first 40 or so minutes it can be seen, thus the system picked accordingly. The best would be if they could be merged into one superduper system. Well, I am working on it.... ALso just curious, what market(s) do you trade -- ES, NQ, ER2, etc. ES/YM but the systems work on stocks too. Actually, the NDX gives better signals several times than the ES or YM...
I don't share my systems so I name them "profitable", "extremely profitable", "unprofitable", and "total crap", etc. Richard
