    The answer to your stupid question is that taggants have not been proven to be safe in explosives like gun powder and dynamite. Plus there is an expense that would affect industry. The NRA was not the only ones raising those questions. The explosives industry had the same problems.

    Maybe next time you should do your own research on the internet instead of being such a pest.

    • Taggants are "potentially very dangerous, as they were found to increase chemical activity, promoting spontaneous combustion when mixed with nitroglycerin, a principal component of smokeless powder";

    • The law is ineffective anyway because "a single batch of gunpowder will be distributed in one-half or one pound cans to thousands of dealers in typically 3 or 4 pound shipments and ultimately would be sold to 15,000 to 30,000 sportsmen for handloading."

    "Gun Control Unpopular Even in Moderate Western States"

    http://www.newsmax.com/US/gun-control-western-states/2013/04/22/id/500806

    From the article:

    "A gun doesn't commit a crime. I can take my shotgun, set it by my door, and it'll sit there for 100 years and it'll never go outside and shoot somebody."

    It's like cars. Cars don't kill people. People texting and driving do. People drinking and driving do. Angry reckless drivers do. Careless drivers do. And in a few cases, people with murder on their mind use their cars to kill.

    The misuse of an object should not result in the removal of that object from society. Of course, we all know there are other agendas afoot when it comes to guns. Left wing Utopia isn't possible with an armed populace. Come on, liberals. Just admit it.

    I don't know if it is or not. The source's credibility seems questionable and the article read like a political hit piece.

    In the end, apparently the NRA wasn't too much of an impediment though. As the bombers were tracked and captured within a week.

    It would be IF we were going to do one on all the criminals that acquire guns. But as has been pointed out repeatedly most criminal's guns are stolen. Hence they did not and will not EVER be subject to a background check. No matter how many times or who writes into law.

    Apparently more than a few here consider watching Chris Leg Tingle and Rachel Mad Cow the same as doing their own research.

    I've never been opposed to background checks. It's all the other shit I oppose. Regestration and confiscation for starters. Outlawing styles because they look "scary". The left wing list goes on.
