heh..US saving rate is either negative or close to zero for while..what cash? i think most folks simply don't have any. cause they smarter than most of us here... debt? oh yeah baby
Got some to tide us over for a little while in case my credit card stopped working at some point. Not 10%, so I'm not sure what to answer.
Cuz if they don't let you withdraw money from your account, they may not even let you in the bank. Keep some someplace safe. Use your imagination. Think like a burglar and don't hide anything in those places. I have some put aside, though it's not even 10%. The poll was flawed in that regard. Prechter's "Conquer The Crash" suggests keeping physical precious metals in offshore storage.
I am amazed at the confidence still exhibited in the banking system given the recent history by governments of freezing redemptions and controls during crisis. Albeight temporary. Straight from the IMF, when confidence is not restored Deposit freezes are necessary as final measure. It is coming.
