Do We Need an Esperanto for Trading

  1. My apologies for posting this idea here, but I could not identify a more inappropriate place on ET for it. I love this thread by Miglio:

it is very 60's Hurstish, but my Italian is inadequate to the task of understanding. I can ask to get laid, but I cannot ask to get traid.

Which suggested to me that if traders worldwide will not adopt Inglese as their lingua franca, do we need to invent an Esperanto for trading?

BTW, I am not totally unconvinced that the thread in question isn't a joke.

    How about Latin?
A beautiful, noble language used for centuries all over ancient Europe. Besides, even the Pope said that the Mess can be celebrated in Latin, and considering the incredible amount of gurus, wizards & other holy priests of the trading religion, I think it would be appropriate.
Writing numbers would be bitchy, though...
